Marking enemies in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 has always been important. Players can use this marking ability to let their squadmates know where an opponent might be. The marker can also be used as a danger indicator, letting teammates know that the area marked may harbor opponents.

As part of the challenges for week 7, players have to mark opponents in-game to earn experience points. There are two separate challenges related to the task. The first requires players to mark 10 enemies in a single match, while the second requires them to mark opponents over the course of the week.

Although both these Fortnite challenges seem extremely dragged out and rather annoying to complete, there's always an easy way to get the job done. While it may take a bit of planning to execute, players should be able to complete it in no time.

A step-by-step guide on how to mark enemies in Fortnite

1) Place Marker button

The most basic method to mark enemies in Fortnite is using the in-game 'place marker' button. This simple tool can be used to mark locations on the map as well as enemies.

However, since players will have to manually mark targets, it may require a bit of practice to perfect. For PC players, the middle mouse button is the default method, while for consoles, it’s left on the d-pad.

2) Reality Augments

Those lucky enough to be blessed by the random-number-generator Gods will be able to use the Bloodhound and Storm Mark Reality Augments to mark enemies. Both Augments can be obtained in a single match, but using them is a different ball game altogether.

Bloodhound allows players to mark enemies by shooting at them using a markman rift or bow. Storm Mark, on the other hand, marks enemies in a short radius, with everything the safe zone shrinks.

Arguably, this is better than the Bloodhound Augment in many ways, but since RNG is very finicky, it's best to choose whichever appears first. Alternatively, players who have plenty of gold bars to spare can re-roll to find either or both of these Augments by the time the mid-game begins.

3) Capture Points

Introduced in Chapter 4 Season 1, Capture Points, when claimed, provide loot to players. Although it takes 45 seconds to claim a Capture Point, once players do, everything within a 14-title radius will be marked for 30 seconds.

If players can claim a Capture Point in a hot-drop zone, they will be able to mark multiple enemies at once. While some risks are involved, those who manage to navigate them will be able to complete the challenge extremely quickly.

4) Falcon Scout

The newest method to mark enemies in Fortnite is using the Falcon Scout. This utility item was added to the game after the update v23.20.

Using the item, players can obtain a bird's eye view of the battlefield and mark enemies using the 'mark' button on their respective gaming devices.

Keep in mind that the Falcon Scout can only be used within a 150-meter radius. Going further than this will result in the item losing signal and being dismissed. Players must keep track of this to the best of their abilities in-game.

5) Shadow Tracker

One of the best methods to mark enemies in Fortnite is by using the Shadow Tracker (Exotic). It can be bought from the NPC known as Evie in exchange for 400 gold bars. She can be found south of Shattered Slabs.

What makes the Shadow Tracker amazing is that aside from being able to mark enemies, the weapon makes no sound when fired. In theory, players will be able to sneak up on enemies and mark them by shooting at them once. They can either disappear after that or stay and engage them in combat.
