Fortnite memes are as old as the game itself. Since its release, there have been several reasons why people on the internet have been trolling it. Half a decade after its release, many wonder if the battle royale is really an overrated meme or a popular game after all.

Cartoony graphics and endless collaborations are quite possibly the reason why many people on the internet mock the game. However, they also contribute to the massive player base that Epic Games has accumulated over the years.

Why is Fortnite always trending?

Epic Games has always ensured that its battle royale game stays on top of these trends. Whether it's casting Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Brie Larson as members of The Seven or hosting million-dollar tournaments, Fortnite loves making headlines. Unfortunately, these headlines often turn into jokes, with some people on the internet indicating that the game is an overrated meme.

Clearly, when Tyler "Ninja" Blevins stood at the center of Times Square and flossed for the Epic Games' New Year's event, it only helped make a case for those who think Fortnite is a meme. However, Epic's battle royale isn't the only game that is made fun of. Most popular games like Minecraft, Valorant, Call of Duty, and Overwatch are also often memed.

Besides enjoying the gameplay, every gaming community also loves to create memes on some of the most hilarious aspects of their favorite game. This is true for the popular Epic Games title. Ultimately, whether it's a meme or the release of a new season, the game has never been out of trend.

Fortnite is a rapidly expanding metaverse

Most of the memes concerning the game are either based on its player base or collaborations. However, these collabs are extremely important to build a metaverse. Out of all the games, Epic's magnum opus is the biggest metaverse. Ranging from other games and music to sports and pop culture characters, the battle royale has everything.

Every debate has two sides to the coin. While many find the humor surrounding the game amusing, it offers a totally unique experience. With the upcoming Unreal Engine 5, the title will offer a lot more customization and will be the ultimate metaverse instead of an overrated meme.

With the upcoming Unreal Engine 5, it will not only attract more players, but a much more dynamic gameplay and the possibility for superior graphics.
