Fortnite update adds five new Exotic weapons, including Explosive Assault Rifle

The v23.40 Fortnite update was released on Tuesday, February 14, and has added several new items to the popular video game. Epic Games has also released a new gameplay feature with it.

As this update is the fourth major one in Chapter 4 Season 1, so much new content should come as no surprise. From cosmetics to weapons, many new things will keep players entertained until the end of the season.

Epic Games has added new powerful Exotic weapons and unvaulted several older Exotic items.

Fortnite update adds several new Exotic weapons

Exotic weapons were first added to Fortnite Battle Royale in Chapter 2 Season 5. These weapons are mostly new variants of existing weapons, but what makes them special are their additional perks.

For example, the Shadow Tracker is a suppressed pistol that can tag enemies and mark them through walls. The damage is almost identical to the regular version of the weapon, but its perk makes it unique.

The v23.40 Fortnite update has added five new Exotic weapons, which are incredible. The Accelerant Shotgun is incredible against structures and will probably be one of the most popular weapons in the current season.

Here is a list of all the new Exotic weapons and their descriptions:

• Explosive Assault Rifle: Fires explosive round projectiles
• Breacher Shotgun: Destroys buildings instantly
• Accelerant Shotgun: Increases movement speed and fire rate as you damage enemies
• Run 'N' Gun SMG: Slap Juice effect and reloads your while sprinting
• Blink Mag SMG: Grants Zero Point Dash for a few seconds after reloading

The Explosive Assault Rifle is a new variant of the Red-Eye Assault Rifle, while the Maven Auto Shotgun was turned into the Accelerant Shotgun. The other three weapons have also been modeled after existing items, including the P90 submachine gun.

In addition to the new weapons in the v23.40 Fortnite update, Epic Games has brought a couple of older weapons. Six weapons were unvaulted on February 14.

Here is a list of all the unvaulted weapons:

• Submachine Gun (P90)
• Dual Pistols
• Hand Cannon (Desert Eagle)
• Heavy Sniper Rifle
• Boom Sniper Rifle
• Hop Rock Dualies

Boom Sniper Rifle and Hop Rock Dualies are unvaulted Exotic items that can now be obtained in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1.

Epic Games has added four new Fortnite Augments with the latest update. Two of these augments increase the effectiveness of pistols and sniper rifles, making them perfect for unvaulted weapons.

One augment grants two keys for Holo-Chests to players, while the other gives players a random heisted Exotic weapon. The last augment is perfect for players who want to try the new additions.
