The tiny Loot Lake island is reportedly making a return to Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. Although this isn't the first time that it's been on the island, this time around, it's a floating POI. According to leakers, this version of the Loot Lake island is the one from Chapter 3 Season 4.

Furthermore, Loot Lodge can be seen on the small island, and it's highly likely that this floating POI will contain high-value loot. Given how important loot is at any stage of the match, the region is likely to become highly contested. Here's some speculation regarding this new floating POI.

Seeing how the Red Rift brought all the major POIs and structures as well as the futuristic-Japanese theme to the island, it's safe to assume that it brought back Loot Lake Island as well. However, the question as to why it's back in the game in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is yet to be answered.

Considering that the Chapter 3 map was destroyed, seeing this tiny landmark survive the supernova is fairly odd. Furthermore, since it comes from another reality, it begs the question as to how it got to wherever it did in the first place. But then again, given that Zero Point works in mysterious ways, the answer will probably remain a mystery.

Moving on to the next bit of speculation as to why the tiny island is floating right off the bat, it can be said that it has nothing to do with Kevin The Cube. The Last Reality is yet to return in force ever since the Cube Queen was defeated back in Chapter 2 Season 8. With The Herald gone as well, there's no one left, at least for the time being.

So, if Kevin isn't causing the tiny Loot Lake POI to float, then who or what is? With the current theme being futuristic-Japanese, an educated guess would be that some modern technology is keeping the island afloat. In all probability, those who came through the Red Rift had access to advanced maglev (magnetic levitation) technology.

The island is possibly being held up in mid-air by the use of magnets, or perhaps, using the power of the Zero Point itself. For the time being, there's no concrete theory that explains this strange and awe-inspiring phenomenon. Perhaps sometime later in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, this floating POI will crash down into the lake below and return to its rightful place.

What can players expect to find at the Loot Lake POI in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2?

Since the island features the Loot Lodge from Chapter 3, as the name suggests, players should find plenty of loot in the area. Perhaps there will be special chests/containers that players can open to obtain Mythic weapons/items such as the Katana.

Judging by the size of the POI, it's massive to say the least. Players will have a lot of ground to maneuver and rotate if they're engaged in a gunfight. The only question that remains is, how will anyone get up there?

Although using Omni-directional Mobility Gear to reach this POI is the best answer, it's not a sustainable means in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. It's very likely that Epic Games will add Grind Rails or ascenders that players can use to reach this POI. Once they're at the top, they will likely be able to jump off and re-deploy to reach the ground safely.
