Fortnite update v22.20 has finally been rolled out, bringing a new mythic weapon called the Howler Claws to the game. Added as part of Fortnitemares 2022, the new melee weapon is unlike any other mythic the game has ever seen. Players are required to complete a challenge to acquire the Howler Claws.

How to get Howler Claws

These are special mythic designed exclusively for Fortnitemares 2022 and will help players complete new quests. While it may seem complicated to acquire one, players can easily do so by following these easy steps:

• Enter a match
• While on the spawn island, open the map and choose an Alteration Altar closest to your preferred landing location.
• Land near the location of your choice.
• Acquire a primary weapon.
• Proceed towards the nearest Alteration Altar location.
• Once at the location, locate an Altar.
• Altar is signified with a faint blue beacon and looks like a small pedestal.
• Upon locating an Altar, approach it and then stand on it.
• Perform the ritual (Emote atop the altar).
• Upon completing the ritual, players will be awarded Howler Claws.

Since Alteration Altars are located all over the map, players can land at any preferred location and proceed towards the nearest one. However, Reality Tree sports multiple Alteration Altars in its vicinity and players can quickly get Howler Claws earlier than their counterparts in the match.

The new mythic is unique in how it is acquired and also in how it functions. Once players are equipped with Howler Claws, they can activate the 'Wolfscent Ability' to track nearby opponents.
