Why Fortnite Chrome is likely to reawaken The Devourer from its deathbed

Chrome is consuming the Fortnite island. Although this is an inconvenience to players and the very fabric of reality itself, it does have a few benefits. For starters, it can be used to buff up structures to make them stronger; the same applies to vehicles and players as well.

When damaged, they will self-heal and regenerate maximum HP. If it can heal everything it comes into contact with and make it stronger to an extent, what else can it do? Can Chrome, for instance, reanimate creatures in Fortnite?

Considering it can manipulate physical form, reanimating something using Chrome as the building block of life is not too outlandish to imagine. With that said, what if it could reawaken The Devourer - bring it back to life?

Chromed Devourer aka Cattus, would be a nightmare scenario in Fortnite

Players can use Chrome Splash to turn into Blobs to bypass fire and fall damage. It allows them to manipulate their physical form as and when needed. This is extremely useful when trying to get out of The Storm or passively healing while on the move.

Coming to the main point of Chrome's regenerate ability in Fortnite, what if it can do more than just regenerate - what if it can reanimate as well? While it wouldn't necessarily be able to restore an organic entity to its original form, it may be able to reconstruct it in a manner of speaking.

Ever since The Devourer's remains were dug up on the island at the start of Chapter 3, fan theories have run rampant. Some suggested that the Imagined Order was growing a new Cattus using DNA from its bones, while others believed that the entity's Mecha form was being created. However, as it turned out, none of them were true.

Although the Imagined Order did possess advanced technology, even Doctor Slone wasn't going to take a risk by creating or growing a new monstrosity on the island; facing down and eliminating one was enough already.

Having another uncontrollable monster on the island is out of the question even for Geno and his unethical approach to preservation of the omniverse. But what about The Herald? Wouldn't a monster made out of Chrome be easy for her to control? Probably, and that is why this fan-theory is all the more frightening.

Will there be a Chromed version of The Devourer aka Cattus in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4?

Although many fans, theorists, and the person writing this article want this to come true, it's unlikely that Epic Games has the same idea. Since Mecha was recently used in a live event and was badly damaged, there will be no one left to challenge this new version of The Devourer.

The entire good versus evil narrative in Fortnite will be tipped in favor of The Herald. With Chrome being able to constantly heal the monster, no amount of firepower would be able to bring it down. It would be a walking tank with God-like powers.

All things considered, Cattus' remains will forever lie dormant on the island as a reminder of the past struggles and how far things have come. With all that said, there is a chance that Chrome will consume the skeleton as time passes by. For those who want to take one last look at it while it's still pure bone, now's the time to do so.
