What’s the story?

The official FIFA 18 ratings have been released! All across the Internet, there were plenty of videos showing clips of expectations and reactions of football players regarding their overall FIFA ratings.

One such person is David Luiz, defender at Chelsea, who was disappointed at one attribute on his FIFA 18 card -- his shooting.

In case you didn’t know...

David Luiz was brought back to Chelsea, two years after he left Stamford Bridge for Paris Saint-Germain. This was a surprising move by manager Antonio Conte as the pair don't really look the part together.

He's come a long way since then showcasing his stellar defensive prowess and helping Chelsea win the Premier League title. Deservedly, David Luiz was named in the 2016-17 Team of the Year.

The heart of the matter

In the 2017 edition of the video game franchise FIFA, David Luiz had a meager rating of 84. His main attributes consist of Pace (73), Shooting (74), Passing (73), Dribbling (71), Defending (82) and Physicality (79).

A couple of days before the ratings were revealed, video clips show that David Luiz was asked what overall rating he expected in FIFA 18. He said 86, and it's safe to say, he was bang on!

In FIFA 18, David Luiz has an Overall Rating of 86 with his key attributes as follows - Dribbling (71), Defending (84) and Physicality (81), Pace (70), Shooting (64) and Passing (74).

But, David Luiz was left distinctly disappointed with three attributes of his. In a tweet posted by Chelsea F.C, it was shown that he didn't agree with one side of his FIFA Card. That is, he was disappointed by the pace, shooting and passing Attributes. David Luiz's disappointment is justified as he has time and time out that he is mighty capable in the offense, considering a defender.

In a recent and exclusive video posted by Rio Ferdinand, the former United defender says that Kante got a better shooting tating than David Luiz. The two other team mates find this hilarious while Luiz was very surprised and wholeheartedly disagreed.

He firmly believed that he deserved a better rating. Meanwhile, Kante, who scores once in a blue moon, got a 66 Shooting Rating this year.

What’s next?

The next thing to see is the FIFA 18 Demo. It releases on 15th September 2017. Fans all over the world will be excited to see the changes and experience the game as it hits the Gaming Arena on all the major consoles.

Author’s take

Personally speaking, I'd like David Luiz to get a higher rating on his Shooting and Pace attributes. He was very overpowered in FIFA 17. Let's see how he performs in FIFA 18!
