Hong Kong Open Badminton 2019

About

Hong Kong open is an annual badminton tournament held in Hong Kong since 1982. It is organised by Hong Kong Badminton Association and it became open of the Super Series tournament in 2007.

BWF Hong Kong Open is one of the seven BWF World Tour Super 500 according to the new structure of events since 2018.


Schedule, Venue and Prize Money


The Tournament will begin from 12th November 2019 to 17th November 2019 at  Hong Kong Coliseum. The total prize money for the event is $400,000.


Hong Kong Open Past Winners and Prominent Players


Wang Chen became the first home player in 2008 to win the Hong Kong Open title. In 1982 Indian shuttler Prakash Padukone won first in Men’s Singles category, becoming the first Indian to do so. In 2010 Saina Nehwal won gold in the Women’s Singles category.
