About Scotland v Pakistan 2018

Pakistan is set to tour Scotland to play two T20Is in June 2018.The two T20I fixtures will be played on 12 June 2018 and 13 June 2018. Both the matches will be played at The Grange in Edinburgh.

These teams have faced each other in a T20I only once before. They met on 12 September 2007 in Durban where they played a group game of the 2007 ICC World Twenty20. Pakistan had set Scotland a target of 172 runs. Scotland faltered in the run-chase and were all-out for 120 with only one ball remaining in their innings.

Pakistan have played two ODIs in Scotland before, winning both the games.

This series will be the first time Scotland will play hosts to a full member team in T20Is. This series will be beneficial to the hosts as Scotland will gain experience and popularity by playing against a full member team.

Scotland captain Kyle Coetzer was quoted saying,”To have the opportunity to take on a hugely talented Pakistan team at home in two T20Is is wonderful news for both the players and our supporters. It also means that having defeated Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka this year we have another great chance to take some more full member scalps.”

Pakistan, on the other hand, will get an opportunity to play in conditions which are similar to England. This experience of playing in Scotland will help them in their World Cup preparations which is scheduled in England in May 2019.
