Combat Mg in GTA 5

The Combat MG is based on the Mark 48 machine gun which is a large caliber version of the M249. This gun uses 7.62mm caliber and has the stock of an M60. This weapon uses the STANAG magazine adapter which is seen on the M249. The Picatinny rails featured on this gun allow a wide variety of attachments to be used with it.

This weapon can be used with a grip, scope and an extended mag that carries 200 rounds. The Combat MG has a slightly lower fire rate which seems to be a disadvantage on this weapon along with its weight. It can be used from the passenger seat of helicopters, cars and other vehicles with enough space to accommodate this weapon.

The Combat MG does heavy damage but has a low fire rate. The 7.62mm is highly penetrative and does immense damage to vehicles, breaking them apart if shot at the body. When shooting the engine of a car with this weapon, it sets it on fire and may cause it to explode. Its recoil is slightly lower than the MG and it can shoot at a higher range than the Carbine Rifle. The 200 round extended mag makes this weapon very useful in gunfights where taking cover is an option. With attachments, this weapon is more efficient as recoil is reduced and accuracy is slightly improved. The Combat MG can also shoot down aircrafts due to its large magazine capacity. The reload is quite fast for a machine gun and takes around 3 seconds, however, the player cannot sprint as usual while this gun is equipped in hand.
