Having seen Gonzalo Peillat eclipse his tally in the previous match between Argentina and England, a charged-up Blake Govers scored his sixth goal of the tournament to join the drag-flicker at the top of the list.

Govers' vibrant energy was instrumental in Australia earning penalty corners on a regular basis. The 22-year old's slick drag-flick in the 19th minute evaded the grasp of France goal-keeper Arthur Thieffry.

Although he missed out on a couple of penalty corners, Govers also played a key role in the third goal. After receiving the ball from Zalewski, he instigated a stupendous variation by nonchalantly under-flicking a well-timed pass to Matt Dawson who in turn found the prowling Australian skipper.
