The game was a far cry from normalcy as Spain maintained a lot of possession but failed to score on quite a few occasions, courtesy of France's custodian Arthur Thieffry, who was beyond spectacular at the front of the goalmouth.

Spain's two penalty corners were thwarted early in the first quarter before a moment of brilliance, Thieffry lifting his stick in the air to deflect a powerful PC attempt from Quemada stood out in the opening half.

The second half started on a fine note for the Spaniards as they went on the offense early but their efforts to score were thwarted by Thieffry, who dived, stretched and kept out yet another low ball from Quemada as the Spaniards were left scratching their heads in quest of a way to score against their opposition keeper.

Ultimately, it was a top day for the French keeper as Spain could only score once from 13 attempts on goal - highlighting Thieffry's domination on the day.
