In the Sunday doubleheader at the Pro Kabaddi League 2017 Season 5, the first match will be a battle between the heavyweights with the Gujarat Fortunegiants clashing against the Patna Pirates as a part of the Inter-Zone Wildcard fixture at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
While the Gujarat Fortunegiants are already perched atop the points tally in Zone A, the Patna Pirates will be gunning for a win which will take them to that position in Zone B, ahead of the Bengal Warriors.

The Fortunegiants are coming into this match on the back of a win against the Jaipur Pink Panthers the day before yesterday while the Patna Pirates slumped to a one-point defeat in their last match against Gujarat itself in Chennai during the Inter-Zone Challenge Week.
The Gujarat Fortunegiants look like a well-balanced and cohesive unit, who have performed well in the recent matches despite missing the services of their regular captain Sukesh Hegde. In his absence, Rohit Gulia, Chandran Ranjit and Sachin have led the attack for the side quite well and have taken care of the raid proceedings.
The defence of the side has seen a consistency with regards to not just performance but also the same four players taking to the mat in every match. Thus, the combination is working well with great outputs for the team. The corners are manned by the Iranian duo of Abozar Mighani and Fazel Atrachali, who play in the same position for their national team as well. The cover positions are manned by two young Indian defenders, Sunil and Parvesh Bhainswal, who have been stellar with their tackles.
