South Africa continue to hold sway in ODIs. With this win, they now have the series in bag. However, as Aiden Markram mentioned in his post-match interview, they'll be eyeing "do things better" in the 3rd ODI on Sunday. Will they able to clean sweep the world champions in their own backyard? We will find out together.
Do join us for the final match of this series on August 25. For now, it is the duo of Darpan and Bidipto signing off on the behalf of the entire team. Sayonara.
Aiden Markram (South Africa captain): "It is a great feeling. Never easy to come to Australia and wrap it up in two games. The boys must be chuffed up. It is always nice when you are not relying on just one or two guys. Happy for Lungi today. There is still a bit for us to do. We need to take 10 wickets. But with those dropped catches, we need to try and take 13 or 14, so not ideal. Opportunity for us to do things better on Sunday (in the 3rd ODI)"
Mitchell Marsh (Australia captain) : "They played better cricket, no doubt about that. Xavier Bartlett, Adam Zampa and Josh Inglis were good for us, but we didn't fire again as a collective unit. We need to be more clinical as a whole, especially with the bat."
Lungisani Ngidi (Player of the Match, 5/42 in 8.4 overs): "Really happy to perform tonight! They did put us under pressure, and we had to fight hard. Kagiso Rabada is not here, and so, I needed to step up. The pace off the surface was something to take into consideration. The behaviour on the cross-seam ball was the most interesting!"

The hard-fought T20I series might have slipped out of South Africa's hands but they have dominated the proceedings throughout this ODI series. This bowling innings sums it up pretty nicely. They had their slip-ups — three catches were put down. And despite that, they have registered defended the target with ease.
Lungi Ngidi was the show-stopper. It was him and left arm quick Nandre Burger who set the tone with some impressive new-ball bowling. While Ngidi bowled persistently on a probing line and length, his partner in crime was bit more adventurous. Burger was not afraid to pitch the ball right up to make the batters play and then, mix it up with the odd short one too.
Both reaped the rewards in the powerplay. But Ngidi was just as impressive in the middle overs too, where his change of pace stood out. His off-cutters caught the batters off guard and coupled with his smart changes of line and lengths, he continued to pose challenges for the Australians. In the end, he finished with a fifer to his name.
Senuran Muthusamy might not dominate the headlines, but he too made an impressive contribution with the ball today. He bowled tight lines and length and ultimately accounted for two wickets too.
For Australia, apart from Josh Inglis' exuberant knock, there were no other major scores of substance. The right-hander came out to bat when the team was already reeling at 38/3. Yet, he exhibited purposefulness and positivity to raise hopes. However, he eventually fell prey to Ngidi.
Earlier in the day, Matthew Breetzke scored another sparkling half-century and along with Tristan Stubbs sturdy innings of 74, helped South Africa pile-on a good score of 277. Among the Aussie bowlers, Zampa finished with the best figures of 3/63. Special mention to Marnus Labuschagne, who bowled 5 overs and returned 2/19.
Adam Zampa has been dismissed for 3 runs off 4 balls
37.4 Lungisani Ngidi to Adam Zampa, FIVE WICKETS FOR NGIDI! ANOTHER CATCH FOR BOSCH! THE SERIES TO SOUTH AFRICA! Hard length on off-stump. Zampa backed away and swung hard across the line. But this one caught the top edge. Corbin Bosch at mid-on settled under it nicely and completed the catch with fingers pointing up!
37.3 Lungisani Ngidi to Josh Hazlewood, aimed at the stumps on the fuller side of good length. Hazlewood backs away and bunts it to the left of the bowler for three runs!
37.2 Lungisani Ngidi to Josh Hazlewood, round the wicket, good length and following the batter. Hazlewood tucks it to the left of the bowler here.
Ngidi is searching for a fifer. Two slips in place for the lefty.
37.1 Lungisani Ngidi to Adam Zampa, back of a length outside off. Zampa backs away and slashes it. The ball catches the cue end, goes high up and lands at third man, rather safely! One run.
But since the wicket fell off the last ball of the over, Zampa will be on strike.
Josh Hazlewood batting at 11th position
That brings no. 11 Josh Hazlewood, LHB, to the crease.

36.6 Senuran Muthusamy to Nathan Ellis, THIS IS STUMPED! Angled in and on with the arm around middle-and-leg. Ellis played all around it on the charge and missed it. Rickelton was left to do the honours after that and he did it with ease! Good collection and a quick whip of the bails when the batters was nowhere near!
36.5 Senuran Muthusamy to Nathan Ellis, ALMOST BOWLED HIM! Back of a length and on with the arm over off-and-middle. Ellis tries to cut it but fails to connect! Might have been pad first you know!
36.4 Senuran Muthusamy to Nathan Ellis, full on off-and-middle. Ellis stepped out and yorked himself! Knocked back to the bowler again.
