That'll be all from this game and series then. It was a pleasure bringing our coverage of it all to you here on Sportskeeda and we thank you for being a part of it. Do stay tuned for further cricketing news and action from around the globe on this very platform. Until next time, this is the duo of Bala and Sooryanarayanan taking your leave. See you again soon - buh-bye and have a great week ahead!
Jacob Bethell receives the trophy and joins his teammates in celebration. England have deservingly won this series and the way they made it look so easy just tells you how good they are in this format. It's a reflection of the gulf between England and Ireland too despite all the talent in the ranks of the hosts. Quite clearly, the Irish have some work to do alright.
Jacob Bethell (England captain): Couldn't have dreamt of anything better really. Obviously the rained out game was a dampener but to come out of my first series as captain with a win is fantastic. We were nice and aggressive throughout the whole week. Today conditions were different to the first game but just the nice, aggressive nature (was great). We wanted to carry that forward from the South Africa series and we've managed to do that pretty well. I said it after the first game that it's cool you get both ends of the spectrum - playing on big grounds and playing at a ground like Malahide. Would love to do it again. I'm looking forward to it (not captaining) - I'd like Brooky to take the reins in New Zealand (grins).
Phil Salt is the Player of the Series (again) for his 118 runs in 2 innings. Here's what he has to say: It's been a brilliant trip - to come and get the win today, that's the cherry on top. Brilliant week or so. Got a lot of cricket coming up, New Zealand next. Nice to be heading in with form as a collective. Bags of talent - I know a lot of the guys fairly well. Really, really pleased to come away with the win. We've got a lot of players who have got a lot of cricket out there (for the World Cup). Got a bit of time off now. Don't get too far ahead of ourselves.
Adil Rashid is the Player of the Match for his returns of 3/29. Here's what he has to say: I thought there was a bit of purchase there for the spinners. As a unit we adapted really well. Overall, really pleased with how we did as a bowling group. Whichever ground you go to you have to adapt to that. Whether it's Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa or any country you have to adapt to the situation. I thought as a group we did very well. We're all looking forward to it (the T20 World Cup) but we've got cricket to be played in New Zealand and Sri Lanka. Exciting times for England as a group. (How much more cricket does he have left?) I'd like to take it a game at a time. Don't want to take it too far ahead. Just want to enjoy the moment, see where life takes me and enjoy the journey as well.
Paul Stirling (Ireland captain): We have got a lot of positives. Would have been perfect to play all three games. The ground staff did well to get the game going on two of the days. I don't think you would know what is a winning score against a team like England. Against a different teams, someone closer to us on rankings, you would have been in the game in both those games. When we go into the next game against Bangladesh, we have to go in with all these learnings. There's no surprise, in patches we have been good, and patches we haven't been. That happens when you haven't played a lot of international cricket. Fans have been amazing. Hopefully, they can support us all the way through the winter as well.
Curtis Campher: All these are building blocks to the World Cup for us. As a process driven team, lots of positives for us, though a win would have been good. (On the catch) It was one of those ones, you put your hand out and it just sticks. It's good to contribute a bit, it's been a lean summer for me. We have a nice little camp before the World Cup.
5:33 PM local time (10:03 PM IST): England beat Ireland by 6 wickets and win the 3-match series 2-0!
Jordan Cox 55 (35) | Adil Rashid 3/29 (4) Gareth Delany 48* (29) | Craig Young 1/21 (2.1)
A smooth chase as it turns out for England. Quite a cruise really despite losing Jos Buttler early and even the long rain break did not disrupt their momentum before they came out to bat. It was a clear indication that Ireland simply did not have enough to play with.
Buttler fell to a ridiculous one-handed catch by Curtis Campher, but it did not deter skipper Jacob Bethell or Phil Salt from playing their shots. Bethell did fall soon but every England batter who came in went for the big hits, with Salt looking like a million dollars again and Jordan Cox taking his opportunity with both hands. Ireland's bowlers were way off target and they simply did not get the ball in the right areas enough.
Cox unleashed his entire range of shots, going big at every possible opportunity and showing just the kind of form he's been in all summer. Salt did depart soon but the asking rate was down to under a run-a-ball at the halfway mark, meaning that the target was never in question. Tom Banton used his nimble feet against spin to great effect and Cox soon raised a fifty although he was castled by leggie Ben White as he failed to see his team through.
No real hiccups though as Banton eventually got the job done. An impressive performance by England and Bethell, captaining for the first time, couldn't have asked for anything better alright. Hang around for the presentation...
Easy as that! England canter home and take the series 2-0! A superb performance through and through by the two-time world champions.
17.1 Craig Young to Tom Banton, full ball on middle and leg. Clips it off his pads to deep mid-wicket. As comfortable as it gets for the English batting side!
Craig Young [2.0-0-20-1] is back into the attack
The scores are level now! Banton has put on an impressive show against spin. And this would augur so well for him as he makes his case for the T20 World Cup.

16.6 Gareth Delany to Tom Banton, good length around the off-stump. Punches it off the backfoot to sweeper cover
16.5 Gareth Delany to Tom Banton, FOUR! Comes down the track, doesn't reach the pitch of it but goes through with the shot over covers
16.4 Gareth Delany to Tom Banton, length ball on off and middle. Defends it on the on-side
16.3 Gareth Delany to Rehan Ahmed, length ball around the off-stump. Cuts it away to deep point
16.2 Gareth Delany to Rehan Ahmed, FOUR! Bowls it from well behind the crease, but it's too short. Ahmed has enough time to pick his spot, slaps it over mid-on
16.1 Gareth Delany to Rehan Ahmed, good length wide of the off-stump. Ahmed doesn't go after it expecting a wide
Just 11 runs away now are England. An excellent over from White after what has been a tough day with the ball. But we're not too far away from this game coming to a close for all practical purposes.
