Problems upon problems for the Mumbai Indians. The five-time IPL champions just can't seem to get their wirings right - while they are perennially slow starters in the IPL, this time seems different. The team just doesn't seem to have gelled well enough thus far, and a loss at home, with the crowd jeering and booing the new captain vociferously will not help their case one bit as they host the Delhi Capitals next on Sunday. The Rajasthan Royals are picking up a lot of steam - three wins on the trot, the Royals seem to have plenty of match winners amongst their ranks, and their tactics seems to be paying off more often! The Royals tighten their grip on that top spot, and with a clash against an inconsistent Royal Challengers Bangalore at home, they'll be immensely upbeat upon steering further clear from the rest of the league!

Trent Boult, Player of the Match: It was nice to be out there, I played my role and got wickets at the start. There's no certainty in this format but today it all came off. Great game of cricket overall. We wanted to create pressure up front. I have played against Rohit a lot over the years. I tried to do something different. Rarely it comes off and today it did. I think Nandre has been a great find. He has got great pace. He wears his heart on his sleeve like most South Africans. Sandy missed out and has played well in whatever opportunities he has got. Ash and Yuzi don't need an introduction. Great to be a part of this bowling group.

Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals Captain): I think the toss was the game changer. It was too sticky to start off and we had the experience of Trent Boult and the pace of Nandre Burger to exploit it. Boult has been playing international cricket for 10-15 years and he knows his skill better than anyone else. I didn't expect them to be 4 down so early but credit to him. We know that we have big individual players but where we stand out is everybody understands their role and works as a team. Like Ashwin and Chahal knew their role was to not go for wickets but to keep it tight and they did that.

Riyan Parag has been awarded the Orange Cap, here is what he has to say: Nothing to be honest. I have simplified everything. Before when I didn't get runs I tried to do different stuffs. The goal is to watch the ball and hit it. It's a funny thing you say it's different. This is the exact time when I go out to bat. When Jos bhai and Ash bhai was dismissed I knew this was my situation as I have batted so many times in domestic circuit in these situation. I have like three four years of not performing it all. I was trying to find out what is wrong. I felt I wasn't practicing at this level. I have worked on the scenarios. My mom is here. She is smiling. My dad stays at home and tries to analyse my batting.

Hardik Pandya (Mumbai Indians captain): Yes indeed a tough night. We didn't start the way we wanted to start. A tough night. We were in a decent position to give us a chance to get to 150-160. My wicket turned it around. It should have done a lot better. It's good to have good bowlers. Don't mind playing on this wicket to be honest. I mean absolutely right. It's all about doing the right things. Sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't. As a group we believe we can pull off a lot of things if we perform better.

The Mumbai Indians bowlers tried their utmost best - Akash Madhwal in particular, but as it turned out, the hosts had far, far too little to play with. The Rajasthan Royals were troubled a fair bit, but a partnership was all that they needed to gain some stability and reach home, and that was exactly what Riyan Parag managed to do - stitch one with Ravichandran Ashwin and guide the Royals to safety, and then take the team in pink home alongside impact player Shubham Dubey later on.

Yashasvi Jaiswal looked to get Royals off to a flyer - he succeeded in dispatching a couple to the boundary off Maphaka in the first over itself, but picked out cover-point off the last ball, handing the 17-year-old rookie South African pacer his first IPL wicket in the process. Sanju Samson, along with Jos Buttler, got the Royals back on track - the duo upped the run rate to above 10 an over until Samson perished, dragging one onto his stumps off Madhwal.

Madhwal proved to be the Mumbai Indians' trump card today - he found some handy pace and bounce off this Wankhede track, got the ball to skid through, and rushed the batters for pace. Buttler departed trying to pull a short one off him, and the Royals were in a bit of bother. Ravichandran Ashwin was propelled up the order, and once again, it proved to be a productive move for the team in pink and blue. Ashwin and Parag navigated the innings nicely, pinching those singles with ease and pouncing on those bad balls at times.

By the time Madhwal induced a top-edge off Ashwin and had his wicket, the game was just about out of the hosts' grasp. Riyan Parag then decided on finishing things off briskly, took on Gerald Coetzee with utmost brutality as the South African steamed in, and finished things off with plenty of time to spare. Banged in short by Coetzee again, was a well directed one but Parag gets enough on that, goes for the pull and the top edge runs away over the keeper's head. A convincing win for the Rajasthan Royals.

15.2 Gerald Coetzee to Riyan Parag, SIX! What a way to bring up yet another half-century. A short of a length delivery a shade outside off, Parag again standing tall and slaps it away over the deep midwicket fence, didn't quite nail that but had enough.
