From the North End, the the square boundaries are 67m and 63m long, respectively and the straight boundary is 73m long. But there is a breeze blowing from the shorter side of the ground, which needs to be taken into consideration. There is a good even covering of grass and there seems to be bounce on offer for the quicks too. There are a few bare patches around the good length, so with the weather being as hot as it is, they may dry up a bit. It's pitch no. 5 and it looks a pitch that has 180 or 185 runs on it for sure, batting first.
