Chelsea in stand-off with PSG over transfer negotiations for Edinson Cavani
With just six months left on his contract, Edinson Cavani is seemingly headed for the exit door in the French capital, with Atletico Madrid rumoured to be his preferred destination.
However, a lack of cutting edge and ankle injury to Tammy Abaham has made Chelsea manager Frank Lampard identify signing a proven striker as a priority and the 32-year-old Edinson Cavani suits the profile.
However, according to The Telegraph, talks have stalled between both parties, with the London club put off by PSG's €15m asking price which coupled with his weekly wages of £350,000 and age makes the deal untenable for the Blues.

Pogba's older brother in transfer confusion
Mathias Pogba is being claimed by two clubs

It seems the Pogba family cannot do away with making the headlines and while the younger brother might be the more famous of the trio, generating speculation with Manchester United, his older brother is also engaged in his own bit of transfer confusion.
The 29-year-old Mathias Pogba (who stars for Guinea alongside his twin brother Florentin) recently signed for Spanish fourth-division side Manchengo, having previously played for Tours in the French third-tier after 18 months out of work with a tendon injury.
However, less than seven months into his contract with the club, confusion has arisen over who has obligations over him, as earlier in the day, rival fourth division club Lorca announced his signing, forcing Manchengo to come out and issue a statement rebutting the claim and stating that they are working to resolve the conundrum as reported by the BBC.

Newcastle considering loan move for Danny Rose
Danny Rose could be on his way out of Tottenham

England left-back Danny Rose is reportedly on his way out of Tottenham, with Premier League side Newcastle said to be interested in bringing him to Tyneside on loan.
The 29-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at White Hart Lane and had complained of the club's poor pay structure in the past while he recently had a fallout with manager Jose Mourinho.
This might have played a part in his decision to head for the exit and The Telegraph reports that Steve Bruce's side could be his next destination in a loan move.

Barcelona turn to Rodrigo Moreno as potential Luis Suarez replacement
Rodrigo is wanted by Barcelona

Barcelona were hit by the news that star striker Luis Suarez has been sidelined for four months due to a knee injury and with crunch matches coming thick and fast in LaLiga and the Champions League, this is a less than ideal situation for the Catalans.
New manager Quique Setien had earlier said that the club would look to sign a replacement and reports by Marca suggest that Barcelona have turned their attention to Valencia man Rodrigo Moreno.
They might, however, be put off by the 60m euros price that Valencia have placed on his head.

Tottenham contact Real Madrid over Gareth Bale availability
Gareth Bale

Daniel Levy has reportedly met with the Real Madrid hierarchy over the availability for a potential loan bid for Gareth Bale.
The Welshman had starred for Tottenham in the past before completing a world record move to Spain in 2013 but never truly settled down at the Bernabeu and has been linked with an exit numerous times in the past.
This shock enquiry comes on the hills of Spurs losing the services of star striker Harry Kane to a long-term injury and the club are eager to make a short-term replacement, with Bale seen as an ideal candidate.
According to the Independent, Daniel Levy met with Real Madrid on Tuesday over the possibility of getting Gareth Bale on loan and major bookmakers suspended bets on the 30-year-old making the move although it remains to be seen if the London club can afford his massive wages of £350,000/week.

The Scottish international has been an ever-present for Chris Wilder's men in the Premier League this season and has weighed in with four goals from 19 appearances to help them up to 7th spot on the log.
One of his goals came as a late equalizer against Arsenal and Gunners manager Mikel Arteta was said to have been impressed with his performance and asked the Arsenal board to make enquiries about him.
According to the Sun, Sheffield United have set their asking price to £20m and with just eight days until the close of the winter window, the North London club would have to act fast if they are to get his signature.

Manchester United willing to pay in excess of £30m for 16-year-old midfielder
Jude Bellngham celebrates a goal
According to reports by Skysports, as per the Sun, Manchester United have entered the race to sign the highly-rated Jude Bellingham from Championship side Birmingham City.
The 16-year-old has won plaudits for his performances in his breakout season, with his high energetic displays and box-to-box traits garnering attention from Europe's elite clubs and Manchester United have reportedly tabled a bid valued at £30m for his signature.
Bellingham currently earns the modest sum of £145-per-week which is the standard scholar's wage but he is set to receive a significant boost in his earnings once he becomes eligible to sign a professional contract upon turning 17 in June.
With talks for Sporting Lisbon's Bruno Fernandez yet to be finalized, the Red Devils could turn to a cheaper and younger alternative and Birmingham City's dire financial position means that they are likely to be willing sellers.
