02:02 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

That'll do it for Sportskeeda's coverage of WWE SmackDown on USA. Be sure to return for Monday Night RAW in just a few days!

02:00 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

As Cody stands tall, Kevin grabs a chair and teases hitting him. That was tense. He must be angry with Rhodes teaming with Roman. They hug, but Kevin looks unhappy. Will he still turn?!

02:00 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

The Bloodline are in full control when suddenly, Cody Rhodes' music hits! He runs out with a chair and nails Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa!

He gets in the ring and nails Jacob with a cutter and runs off The Bloodline!

01:58 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Back to the floor, The Bloodline is ready to put Kevin through the announce table. Then DIY make their way out! They're in pain, but they start fighting with Tama and Tonga!

They're clearly hurt, and Jacob Fatu takes advantage of it. The Bloodline then attacks Owens again and puts him in the ring.

01:57 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Commentary said he threw out the match because nobody is following rules, which makes sense. All six men start fighting outside of the ring.

The Bloodline try to set up Owens to put him through a table, but he fights it. In the ring, Loa slams Ford and Jacob Fatu hits a splash off of the top onto him.

01:55 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

The pinfall attempt is interrupted, but Owens takes control and climbs. Tama gets up and stops Owens. He then goes to Superplex Kevin, but as is common, it backfires, and Owens hits his suplex variation! It was almost over, but Tonga Loa broke the count up.

Owens hits a stunner, and this one should've been over, but Tonga Loa breaks up the count again, and the referee calls for the bell for some reason.

The Bloodline vs. The Street Profits and Kevin Owens ends in no-contest

01:53 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Owens tags in and nails clotheslines and a running senton on the floor. He then hits a frog splash off of the apron onto Loa! Back in the ring, he runs with a cannonball on Tama Tonga after a crotch chop.

01:52 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Montez hits a huge crossbody and knocks Loa off of the apron. Ford then hits a huge clothesline on Tama. Ford flips out of a move and hits a big knee, then a back suplex and a standing moonsault for a two-count.

Commentary has regularly put over what a threat Fatu is and he is the star of the match.

01:51 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Back from presumably the final break of the night and Tama Tonga is in full control. He is working over Angelo Dawkins, who the fans are cheering on. Angelo hits a big suplex, but Fatu tags in and stops Dawkins from getting a tag. He then drives Angelo into the turnbuckle.

Jacob pummels Angelo, but Dawkins hits a big kick out of nowhere. He then dodges a splash and Fatu smashes the ring post! Fatu tags in Tama and Ford gets the tag!

01:46 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Fatu goes for a running hip attack but Ford moves. He hits a tag to Dawkins who comes in like a house of fire. He knocks Fatu down repeatedly and hits a big back elbow. He flapjacks Tonga Loa and knocks Tama off of the apron, but then eats a superkick from Jacob.

Fatu then hits a moonsault as we go to break.

01:44 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Jacob Fatu takes over and beats up Montez Ford. He repeatedly stomps away at the former champion and throws him hard into the buckle. Tama Tonga slides in, and Michael Cole mentions Haku and Tama Tonga's New Japan Pro-Wrestling accolades. Tama nails a move and then tags out to Fatu, who destroys Ford with a running back elbow.

01:42 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Back from break and the match is already underway, this replacement was made official.

The Bloodline vs. Kevin Owens and The Street Profits

The Street Profits and Owens are in control. They work over Tonga Loa and Owens hits a big senton. An "OTC" chant starts, which likely doesn't make any of the talent happy.

01:36 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Owens begins fighting The Bloodline on the ramp all by himself. Eventually, The Street Profits comes out and they may be replacing DIY in the main event! Owens hits a dive but nobody knows if the match will change.

We'll find out after the break.

01:36 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Next up, Kevin Owens comes out. He is then joined by DIY, but they don't come out. Instead, they are shown being assaulted backstage by The Bloodline. This was a setup!

01:34 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Michael Cole then reveals Michin and Chelsea Green will have a Dumpster Match in two weeks! We also see Nick Aldis with Bayley and Naomi. He says they go one-on-one next week, and the winner faces Nia.

Next week:

- Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes Part VI
- Bayley vs. Naomi.

01:32 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Back from break, Michael Cole reveals that tonight's SmackDown is yet another sellout. The crowd has been incredibly impressive. Notably, a woman in the audience has an "I'm a Cole-Miner sign."

We then get a vignette with Chelsea Green by a trash bin. She takes a shot at Michin while hilariously "working out" with trash. She freaks out about a raccoon and promises to make Michin pay.

01:26 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

The referee confirms Naomi and Bayley won, but it seems as if they both pinned Nia at the same time. What does that mean? Who gets the title opportunity? For now, we don't know.

01:26 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Naomi is able to knock Nia down, and Tiffany accidentally hits a Swanton on Nia! She apologizes to Nia, but Naomi and Bayley hit the 1D! Nia tries to take control, but Naomi and Bayley manage to pin Nia simultaneously. What just happened?!

Naomi and Bayley defeat Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton by pinfall

01:24 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Nia begins fighting back, knocking Bayley down and hitting a sit-out move on Naomi. Nia then climbs to the second rope, but Bayley stops her. Bayley and Nia hit duel moves off the ropes and double pin, but both Naomi and Tiffany kick out at two. "Bayley" chants as Bayley and Naomi try to double superplex Tiffany. Nia cuts it off, and Bayley is sent to the floor.

01:22 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Back in the ring, Bayley and Naomi hit a double-team move on Tiffany. Bayley goes to cover her, but Naomi pulls her off! What a betrayal! Bayley questions her, but Naomi saves Bayley from an attack from Nia. They then work together and hit a HUGE double back drop on Nia. Wow!

01:21 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Back from break and all four women are on the floor. Nia and Naomi are fighting, with Nia throwing Naomi over into the timekeeper's area. Nia tries to do the same to Bayley, but Bayley slides through, and Naomi kicks Nia. Bayley then drops Tiffany on the floor. Tiffany tries walking away up the ramp, but Bayley stops her. The Role Model then gets in the ring and hits a dive on Nia. Naomi follows suit with a move off the ropes.

01:16 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Tiffany breaks it up and she and Nia take control. This leads to a double blockbuster on Bayley for a near fall!

From there, we go to commercial break.

01:16 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

The bell rings and both teams go at it. Nia and Tiffany get the upper hand early. As a reminder, Naomi and Nia are related through The Bloodline. Bayley and Naomi take control and hit big splashes and corner elbows on Tiffany. They then double-team Nia.

Tiffany is sent to the floor and both Naomi and Bayley try to pin Nia at the same time and there is clear tension.

01:14 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Boxer "King" Callum Walsh is shown in the crowd. It is then noted that The Bloodline vs. Kevin Owens and DIY is confirmed for tonight. Then Naomi's music hits, and she makes her way out. The crowd chants "glow" with her. Then Bayley's music hits, and the two hug. Will one of them be forced to leave SmackDown forever?

Naomi and Bayley vs. Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton

As a reminder, this is a Tornado Tag Team Match.

01:07 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Advertised for Monday:

- Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker.
- Drew McIntyre will address CM Punk.

01:06 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Backstage, Naomi and Bayley are talking about their upcoming match. Both say they don't want to leave SmackDown, but they also mention wanting a title match. They joke about what happens when the other one wins, but is there tension?

From there, Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton make their way out. They will compete after the break.

01:04 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Next up, DIY's music hits! DIY comes out and fights off Tonga and Tama! Owens sends Jacob Fatu to the floor! DIY hits the Shatter Machine on Tama Tonga! Nick Aldis and security come out. Aldis then mentions three of both parties and makes a Six-Man Tag Team Match main event tonight!

01:03 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Tama Tonga starts to speak and the fans boo him. Tama says they better let the right hand man speak. Tonga says last week Roman and Cody embarrassed The Tribal Chief and they'll get what's coming to them, but tonight Kevin will get what is coming to him tonight. Kevin says nobody has ever wanted to hear anything he had to say and tells them to get in the ring.

He knocks down Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa off of the apron, and he and Jacob Fatu begin to brawl. Then Tonga and Tama come in and jump him.

01:01 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Kevin thanks the fans for the cheers. Owens says he's aware many are wondering what he thinks about the Roman Reigns-Cody Rhodes situation. He goes to say how he feels, but he's interrupted by Tama Tonga's music playing! He, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu come out. Tama Tonga has the microphone and makes his goblin noises.

00:59 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

After the break, Kevin Owens' music hits! Looks like he'll be addressing everything right now! Commentary discusses why Owens may be skeptical of Roman Reigns.

"KO" chants as he grabs a mic and stands in the ring.

00:53 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Vinci leaves the ring and immediately attacks Crews. He kicks him and throws Apollo in the ring. An angry Giovanni then hits a brutal brainbuster on Crews! Wow. He slaps Apollo a few times as the fans boo him.

Backstage, Byron again asks Kevin Owens if he can talk about the Roman-Cody situation. Kevin says if he's going to discuss them, he'll do it in front of the crowd and walks away. Michael Cole jokes that Byron is a pest.

00:52 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Vinci hits several big strikes as the crowd "woos." Crews hits him back. Vinci dominates and repeatedly slams Crews leg-first into the ropes. He is struggling to walk. Vinci lifts Apollo for a Powerbomb, but Crews slides down the back and rolls Giovanni up for a quick win!

Apollo Crews defeats Giovanni Vinci by pinfall

Vinci is in shock.

00:50 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

We're back from break, and we see Kevin Owens still deep in thought and looking annoyed backstage. We then see Apollo Crews in the ring. Giovanni Vinci's music hits, and he makes his way out for a big rematch. Vinci doesn't have his entrance gear on tonight and looks like he means business. Michael Cole takes a shot and says Vinci looks like a younger and better-looking Adam Pearce.

Apollo Crews vs. Giovanni Vinci

The bell sounds and Giovanni Vinci goes right at Crews, stomping him repeatedly.

00:44 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Backstage, we see Kevin Owens, who watched the video backstage. Byron Saxton approaches him and asks Kevin his thoughts. Owens looks annoyed, laughs, and walks off. Uh-oh...

00:43 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Roman asks Cody what he wants. Cody says he wants Roman's word that he has his back so Cody can have his.

Reigns agrees but says to make it clear, when its all done, he's taking back what is his. Roman goes to walk away and Cody steps in front of him. Rhodes says its not Reigns' to take. Wow. Roman says Cody is in his way.. in life. And walks away. That was intense.

00:42 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Cody questions Roman Reigns if he really has nothing to lose. He mentions WWE having a Tribal Chief, and it isn't Roman. He mentions WWE has a champion, but it isn't Roman. He asks who is standing before him right now. Cody says it's not the multi-time WrestleMania main eventer; it's the guy they used to call "Roman Reigns."

00:40 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Cody says this may be Roman's field, but it is his home. Roman says Cody signed himself up for a lose-lose situation. He says he has nothing to lose since they took Jimmy, Heyman, The Bloodline, and the Ula Fala. He says there is no weight on his neck; it's all on Cody's. Rhodes says he isn't surprised. Cody says he told Roman he would be standing here a chief without a tribe before WrestleMania.

00:39 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Next up, we go to Atlanta for this face-to-face Roman Reigns-Cody Rhodes video, which is a cinematic video. Roman Reigns arrives first in a luxury sports vehicle, while Cody is then shown arriving in a fancy car. In the football stadium, they go face-to-face, and Roman says everything in that venue is his. He mentions shedding blood and tears on that field, meaning it's his. It's his stadium. Roman then claims it's his city.

Roman asks Cody what he's done for "his" city. Cody Rhodes mentions the 7 cars that came with Roman, Center Stage, and The Omni and says how multiple generations of his family have bled in and for the city.

00:34 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

After the break, Andrade is walking backstage when Carmelo Hayes shows up. He mocks Andrade and the local sports team, which leads to the two getting into an intense brawl! Is their series back on?!

Referees and security had to pull them apart and the camera lens got covered in sweat. Very cool visual.

00:29 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

LA Knight and Andrade go eye-to-eye post-match. LA Knight's eye is busted open. The two have a tense handshake.

From there, we get a video package previewing tonight's women's tag team match. We then see Tiffany Stratton with Nia Jax. Tiffany is talking about getting rid of one of them tonight. Nia slaps Tiffany's shoulder to "encourage" her, but it seems aggressive. There is more tension as Nia says if Tiffany loses tonight, maybe SHE should leave SmackDown.

00:27 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

The crowd thinks that should've been a three count, chanting, "Ref, you suck." Andrade climbs the ropes and goes for a Superplex, but Knight attempts to jump to the top! No, he botches and falls repeatedly. That took the wind out of the match. Andrade misses a missile dropkick and eats a BFT, and this one is over!

LA Knight defeats Andrade by pinfall

That was a great match before the slip-up.

00:25 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

A lot of the crowd is behind Andrade, too, now. He hits running knees in the corner for a near fall. He then hits a jawbreaker, but Knight catches him with a massive slam. Knight climbs to the second rope and jumps to the top for the L-A Knight elbow! Andrade gets to his feet and counters a BFT with a roll-up and nearly wins!

This is great. Andrade just nailed Knight with a back elbow for a two-count.

00:23 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Back from the second break and Andrade nails LA Knight with a running strike and he kips up. Knight counters the momentum, though, and nails a DDT and a running corner attack. Knight hits a big jumping neckbreaker for a two-count. "This is awesome," chants.

Knight tries to suplex Andrade off the ropes, but Andrade elbows him off. Andrade goes for a Moonsault, but Knight moves. Andrade lands on his feet and nails a standing one!

00:17 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Knight picks up control and it leads to the men fighting outside of the ring. The Megastar repeatedly slams Andrade against the announce table and then hits a slingshot tackle back in the ring. The crowd is behind Knight, but they seem to like Andrade too, just less.

Andrade and Knight start fighting on the apron. Knight lifts Andrade up, but El Idolo slides down and pushes Knight into the ring post. Andrade then climbs to the top and hits a beautiful Moonsault to the floor! The crowd loved that!

00:15 (GMT)21 SEP 2024

Back from break and Andrade and LA Knight are trading chops and strikes. Notably, Michael Cole mentioned the referee calling the match, another thing Vince McMahon used to HATE. These changes to the product are small but nice.

Andrade gets the upper hand and hits a huge crossbody from the top for a nearfall
