Minecraft has a lot of mobs, including the creeper, the cow, and the sheep. However, there are some that are not frequently encountered. This includes the silverfish mob that can be commonly found in the stronghold. While most players never want to see it, what happens when they are given a new design?
A Minecraft player and Reddit user named u/Godzilla_Fan_13 shared some images on the subreddit of the game. The pictures showed a remodeled version of the notoriously annoying silverfish mob in the game. The user had made this mob more accurate to the real-life silverfish insect. They also increased its overall size as the official model is quite small.
Reacting to this redesign, user u/Omicron43 commented:
“I love this design. The only thing I'd add is something referencing the current silverfish's spikes”
Another user named u/Koro_4 suggested to the original poster that they could make the antenna of the mob straighter as it is currently looking like a Cambrian-type arthropod.
The user also complimented the spider redesign that is featured in one of the images. User u/Stracii agreed that making the antenna straighter would make the mob look more like a real silverfish.
User u/Gameovergirl217 said that the spider redesign makes it look cute. User u/Kuma5335 said that the commenter might not be arachnophobic, and they found the spider cute. They mentioned that they like spiders in Minecraft just because they do not look like real-life spiders. So, making it realistic would not be a great idea for them.
Another user named u/-PepeArown- said that the spider in the game has the right amount of legs and eyes just looks more like the real one. However, it just lacks the two tiny arms on its mouth.
User u/ItsTerryTheBerry said that spiders in Minecraft have their mandibles, but they are just not modeled. They are placed under the eyes as two black square textures.
User u/DeleteMetalnf said that the redesign of the silverfish looks really cool, and they like it a lot better. They also added that it is weird how half of the mobs in the game have an outdated design. However, the new mobs look more modern, and Mojang Studios might never update the old designs as they have become iconic.
New mobs and items in Minecraft
Mojang Studios has been adding a lot of new content to the game. The release of the Bundles of Bravery update brought bundles to the game.
This item is the perfect alternative to the shulker box, as it is easily available early in the playthrough. The update also added Hardcore Mode to the Bedrock edition of Minecraft. But that is not the most exciting part about the future of the game.
The developers announced the Winter Drop will be bringing a new biome called the Pale Biome. This will feature the Creaking mob, the eyeblossom flowers, and the resin block, along with the Creaking Heart.
