The trailer for A Minecraft Movie has been released. Fans of Mojang's sandbox game seem to like almost everything about it, from the intricately built props to the set design and even how the mobs look.
A Redditor named u/thiscat129 recently shared a screenshot from the trailer of the film. The image shows the moment when Steve gives a wolf a bone to turn it into the tamed wolf.
The initial teaser for A Minecraft Movie received a lot of negative feedback, especially for the mob design. However, it seems that the trailer has changed this sentiment.
Reacting to u/thiscat129's post, u/GamingWolf3980 praised the design of the wolf and the sword in the film.
u/DataPackMadness said it is surprising how good the art style of the animation looks, comparing it to the bizarre sheep mob shown in the teaser, which had caused much of the negative feedback.
u/FlopperMineTD8 wrote a lengthy comment about the looks and direction of A Minecraft Movie, stating that the items and the wolf in the trailer look very good. However, they remain unsure about seeing the film due to the poor reception of the first teaser and their bad experience with the 90s Super Mario movie adaptation.
u/Irish_pug_Player found the red eyes of the wolf a bit confusing, while u/Crimson_Knight711 noted the presence of several sheep in the background, which was perplexing since these mobs are quite rare in the game. They hypothesized that Steve might encounter these mobs being attacked by a wolf and then tame it, explaining the red eyes.
A Minecraft Movie teaser wasn't well-received
When the teaser for A Minecraft Movie was released, fans of Mojang's sandbox did not receive it well, with many players complaining about how nothing looked right.
Most players did not like how Jack Black looked as Steve. Instead of the familiar short hair and goatee beard of the blocky character from the game, the actor had long hair and a dense salt-and-pepper beard.
However, it seems that the trailer has changed the negative fan reception, rekindling hope for the film.
