Minecraft could have accidentally revealed the release date for their next game drop, simply termed as 'Winter Drop'. This drop will feature the unique Creaking mob and the new Pale Garden biome. These two features were introduced back in September 2024, along with the Bundles of Bravery game drop. After Bundles of Bravery was released, Mojang turned towards the Winter Drop and started working on the update in various snapshots.

Minecraft is a game that is present on most devices, including Android. As with most Android games, Minecraft also sends all kinds of push notifications on a device if the user has it turned on. The notifications are usually about sales taking place on the marketplace, and other promotional news.

Recently, however, a mysterious game notification popped up on some user's phones that hinted that the Winter Drop could release on December 3, 2024.
The notification simply read:
"The Garden Awakens December 3. The Overworld will never be the same. Enter if you dare."
Since the Garden could be connected to the Pale Garden, there is a strong chance that this notification hinted at the new biome's release in the Winter Drop.
As soon as players received this notification, some posted it on social media platforms and discussed it with other fans.
One detail that weakens the chances of it being a release date reveal is that when players tapped on the notification, it took them to a Minecraft website page that showed the upcoming Block Friday sale on the Bedrock Edition's marketplace that ends on December 3.
There was no connection between the Garden and the content that was featured to be discounted during the Block Friday sale. Furthermore, the notification said that something would begin on December 3, whereas the Block Friday sale ends on that same day.
This could mean that Mojang must have accidentally sent the wrong notification on mobile devices, which leaked the potential release date for the next update.
Snapshot and beta/preview development shows Winter Drop is almost ready to release
Another strong point that supports the speculation of Winter Drop releasing on December 3 is the development progress in both Java and Bedrock Edition.
In Java Edition, the 1.21.4 snapshots are already in the pre-release phase, and Bedrock Edition has also entered its final stages where Mojang is only ironing out bugs and smaller details. This is another major hint that the official release is close, and could be on December 3, 2024.
