When is Creaking and Pale Garden coming to Minecraft?

Minecraft fans have been eagerly anticipating the Winter Drop, which was first announced alongside the Bundles of Bravery update. Among the various features revealed, the exciting new Creaking mob and Pale Garden biome garnered more attention than bundles or Hardcore mode for the Bedrock Edition. Now, it seems that the wait is just about over.

Mojang Studios announced via Minecraft's official account on X that the Winter Drop will officially release on December 3, 2024. Here’s everything you need to know about the drop and what makes it so interesting.

The Winter Drop introduces a host of exciting additions to Minecraft. Among them is the Pale Garden, a new overworld biome. As the name suggests, you can find it when you start noticing pale grey trees and grass. No mobs except one will naturally spawn here, making it quite barren and dead.

During the day, the Pale Garden has nothing much to offer other than the eyeblossom flower. However, things completely change when night arrives. In the darkness, the new hostile mob called the Creaking spawns here, bringing an exciting addition that pushes you to switch your combat style.

Similar to the Warden who cannot see but hear you moving, the Creaking will attack you whenever you are not looking at it. The idea is to navigate the forest without breaking eye contact with this mob and find the Creaking Heart because no matter how much you attack the Creaking, it will not take any damage.

You need to break the Creaking Heart to despawn the hostile mob. Breaking the heart will also give you the resin block, which can be put inside the furnace to make resin bricks. Additionally, you can use it for construction purposes and it goes well with the Pale Oak block.

More items in the Winter Drop

The other interesting item coming to Minecraft is the eyeblossom flower. During the day, it remains closed and looks grey, but at night, it opens up and emits an orange glow, very similar to the eyes of the Creaking mob. You can use the flowers to make grey and orange dye, depending on when the flower is taken.

Another interesting part of the Winter Drop is you can use the Creaking Heart to summon the Creaking mob in any biome you want. Placing the heart between two Pale Oak wood logs that are in the same orientation will activate it.
