ONE Championship continued its massive growth this 2023 with ONE Friday Fights 1 kicking off the promotion’s landmark Lumpinee cards in Bangkok.

The promotion’s weekly shows inside the historic arena will feature not just the best Muay Thai fighters in the world, but also the brightest prospects in Thailand’s national sport.

ONE Friday Fights 1 will feature a huge main event with Thai legend Nong-O Gaiyanghadao defending his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title against Russian star Alaverdi Ramazanov.

The card also features a slew of top fighters who are hungry for world title shots in the future, as well as the sport’s greats who’ll make their debuts in the premier martial arts organization.

That said, here are the three fighters to watch out for at ONE Friday Fights 1 this January 20.

#3. Alaverdi Ramazanov

Russia has always been home to some of the world’s greatest martial artists and Alaverdi Ramazanov is no exception.

The striking star is a former ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion and has held the gold from December 2019 until January 2021.

Ramazanov is one of the best strikers in the world boasting a professional record of 63-8 with six of those wins taking place inside the Circle.

‘Babyface Killer’ is also riding a streak of three straight wins in his Muay Thai matches in ONE Championship which firmly set him up for a world title shot against Nong-O Gaiyanghadao at ONE Friday Fights 1.

The 28-year-old is coming off a crucial split decision win over Capitan Petchyindee, a former ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion, in his last fight at ONE 161 in September 2022.

#2. Prajanchai PK.Saenchai

Debuts are often nerve-wracking experiences, but Prajanchai PK.Saenchai made sure that his first fight in ONE Championship was a golden one.

The 28-year-old was thrust into a world title fight in just his first fight in the promotion and the man he had to face was the legendary Sam-A Gaiyanghadao.

Though the match was as huge as it could get, Prajanchai worked a relentless pace and captured the ONE strawweight Muay Thai world title at ONE: Battleground in July 2021.

Prajanchai, however, dropped the world title in his next fight to Joseph Lasiri at ONE 157 in May 2022. Nevertheless, the hometown fighter is ready to get back on the world title hunt.

The 28-year-old will face two-time Muay Thai world champion Kompetch Sitsarawatsuer at ONE Friday Fights 1 in his first step back to the world title picture.

Prajanchai is considered one of the best Muay Thai fighters of his generation and has an insane professional record of 338-52-3. It’s beyond argument that Prajanchai is hungry for redemption and ONE Friday Fights 1 might just be the stage of his comeback trail.

#1. Nong-O Gaiyanghadao

A handful of fighters have made an argument to be called the greatest Muay Thai striker of all time, and Nong-O Gaiyanghadao seems to have submitted his case years ago.

The reigning ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion is already considered one of the greatest Muay Thai fighters to have ever lived, and the 36-year-old continues to build on that distinction.

Nong-O is a devastating striker with a professional record of 264-54-10 throughout his entire career. He’s also 9-0 inside the Circle with his last four fights ending in a knockout.

The Thai megastar could possibly push his ONE Championship record to 10-0 when he defends his strap against Alaverdi Ramazanov in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 1 on January 20.

ONE Friday Fights 1 marks not just Nong-O’s seventh defense of his gold, but it’s also the first time that he’s fighting in Bangkok since defending his world championship over Hiroaki Suzuki at ONE: Warriors of Light in May 2019.
