Dana White appears to be trying to put the past behind him after he was spotted gambling in Las Vegas just days after the incident involving his wife.

Earlier this week, TMZ released a video showing the UFC president and his wife Anne celebrating New Year's Eve with friends in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

The video showed White and his wife drinking and arguing before Anne slapped him across the face. White immediately hit her back before the pair were restrained by their friends.

Following the incident, Dana White appeared on TMZ to apologize for his behavior and admitted there was no excuse for it:

“There was definitely a lot of alcohol involved, but that’s no excuse. I am making no excuses for this at all. It’s never happened before. It was the first time. I don’t know why it happened. My wife and I apologized to each other. We apologized to our kids.”

Since then, White has shared his success in the casino on his Instagram story, confirming that he'd been playing at the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Whilst it's not uncommon for the 53-year-old to be spotted in a casino, many would have assumed he'd be taking some time away from the public eye to deal with the situation.

Stephen A. Smith believes Dana White should be punished

The incident involving Dana White and his wife on New Year's Eve has sparked a debate amongst MMA fans and personalities about ways to best navigate the situation.

In the video, White is slapped first by his wife, which some believe neither she nor the UFC president are to blame for the situation. Stephen A. Smith disagrees, however, believing that White should be punished for putting his hands on a woman.

On this week's episode of First Take, the sports personality stated that White should be held as accountable as any other abuser involved in domestic violence:

"You do not put your hands on a woman if you're a man. Dana White knows that. He has spoken out against men who have put their hands on women before and whatever punishment you would exact in these circumstances to somebody else is what he should apply to himself."
