Conor McGregor further addresses controversy surrounding him pulling out of the USADA pool

Conor McGregor took umbrage at UFC light heavyweight contender Anthony Smith's steroid accusations and issued a furious response on Twitter. He further stated that he issued a full disclosure before committing to his path to recovery.

During his third fight against rival Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, Conor McGregor suffered an appalling leg injury that has kept him away from the competition for over a year now.

Moreover, reports of him being the only fighter on the current UFC roster not to have been tested by USADA in the 2022 calendar year have got MMA fans and fellow peers bothered. However, Anthony Smith's comments, in particular, antagonized 'The Notorious', and he lashed out at the American.

McGregor believes that Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman, two fighters who've suffered similar horrific injuries in the past, are the only ones who can truly comprehend the severity of the injury.

While addressing his withdrawal from the USADA testing pool, he maintained his stance that the rehabilitation procedure was initiated in accordance with the top authorities:

"Everything was fully disclosed before I began. The state of allowance for athletes to recover from injuries as horrific as the one I overcame must be assessed. My thoughts are with Weidman and Anderson Silva. The 3 of us, and only us, know the severity of this injury."

Anderson Silva, then 38 years old, broke both his tibia and fibula in the rematch against Chris Weidman at UFC 168 on December 28, 2013. Weirdly enough, at UFC 261, Weidman suffered a similar fracture when his kick was checked by Uriah Hall. The former UFC middleweight champion hasn't returned to fighting since then.

Conor McGregor hits out at Artem Lobov amidst ongoing legal battle

Artem Lobov, a former training partner of Conor McGregor, recently made news when he sued the Irish star over a dispute regarding Conor’s whiskey brand Proper No. Twelve.

Lobov claimed that he is entitled to 5% of McGregor's share of those profits ($600 million) since he played an integral part in the ideation and launch of the brand.

In retaliation, Conor McGregor recently posted an audio clip of himself jingling to a tune on his official Twitter account:

"Artem is a rat"

McGregor used his unparalleled fame in MMA to launch a bunch of successful side ventures. In 2021, he earned $180 million, the vast majority of which came from selling a majority stake in his whiskey brand Proper No. Twelve to Proximo Spirits and became the highest-earning athlete of the year.
