Jon Jones recently took to X and claimed that he was the youngest champion in the UFC in 2011 and is now the oldest champion on the UFC roster. However, X's Community Notes clarified that Alex Pereira is actually the oldest champion on the roster, as he is 12 days older than Jones.
@SpinninBackfist posted screenshots of the entire debacle, sparking reactions from several MMA enthusiasts who quickly rushed to the comments section to share their opinions.
One user poked fun at the relationship between UFC CEO Dana White and Jones, writing:
“Dana's about to get Alex to change his birth certificate.”
Another added:
“I mean 12 days isn't much of a difference but of course Aspinall fans will gas this lol.”
Another user slammed ‘Bones’ and said:
“He is fake oldest and fake champ as well.”

According to the UFC, the heavyweight champion Jon Jones was born on July 19, 1987, while Alex Pereira was born on July 7, 1987. This makes the Brazilian the oldest champion on the UFC roster, even though both men are 37 years old.
Jon Anik believes that Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall is in the making
Following his heavyweight title defense against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, it remains unclear whom Jon Jones will face next. Ideally, he should fight interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall for a title unification bout. However, Jones has expressed a desire to fight Alex Pereira instead, claiming that it would be a significant addition to his legacy.
Recently, Jon Anik shed light on the entire situation while speaking to MMA Junkie. He confidently claimed that the UFC will make the Jones-Aspinall matchup, saying:
''I have no inside information. I truly don’t. You can call it informed speculation. … But I do believe that fight is going to happen...This is the fight. Even though Jon Jones isn’t the natural heavyweight in body that Tom Aspinall is, he’s not going to fight Alex Pereira right now. He’s going to fight Tom Aspinall.''
He went on to suggest that Jones' dismissal of Aspinall was more of a negotiation tactic, and that if the UFC met the heavyweight champion's asking price, he would accept the fight against Aspinall.
