UFC head honcho Dana White has recently stated that Jon Jones has already agreed to fight Tom Aspinall, and has compared him to former middleweight kingpin Anderson Silva.
The UFC has been trying to get Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall inside the octagon for quite some time, but repeated delays—rumored to be due to Jones—have kept the matchup from materializing. 'Bones' secured a TKO victory against former champion Stipe Miocic last year, whereas Aspinall hasn't competed since defending his interim strap against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304.
Aspinall has long expressed his frustration with the ongoing situation and has recently shared that he has moved on from the Jones fight and is now looking to fight other contenders.
White told the media at the UFC 316 post-fight presser that dealing with Jones is very similar to dealing with Silva and dubbed them as "artists".

"It is definitely the process with Jon Jones. I've been going through this since the day he started here; it's definitely the process. Him and Anderson Silva, every time through the history of being in business with those guys, when the time comes to try and get them to fight, it's like dealing with artists, it's interesting!"
A reporter then asked the UFC CEO if he believed in his gut that the bout between Jones and Aspinall would ever materialize. White shared a positive response and stated that 'Bones' had already agreed to fight Aspinall.
"Yeah, I've been saying it since the beginning. Jon Jones agreed to do the fight. Jon Jones was offered the deal and accepted the deal."
