Rapper Lil Pump has taken a sly dig at Dillon Danis after the latter threw an open challenge to fighters on the UFC 316 card. Danis used a similar choice of words, echoing Chael Sonnen's callout during the Bellator 192 post-fight interview.

'El Jefe' said:

"Any fighter wants to try me, I'll make you famous. Doesn't matter if it's one-on-one, two-on-one, or five-on-one. I'll make 'em all need 911... They know a 2-0 phenomenon would come in and beat every person on the roster in 1 round and less, and that's bad for business."

Home of Fight on Instagram reshared the remarks above and a photo of Danis in a bathtub flashing $100 bills, which caught the attention of Lil Pump, who commented:

Dillon Danis has revealed why the UFC did not sign him

Earlier this year, Dillon Danis stated in an interview with Ariel Helwani that the UFC had originally intended to sign him but ultimately decided against it because they wanted 'El Jefe' to prove himself in MMA first.

"I wanted to do it with the UFC. Basically, we never got to Dana. Dana, apparently, is the kind of guy to be like yes, we're going to sign you 100%, and then Hunter [Campbell] comes in... Then it came down talking to Hunter and Hunter was basically like nah, this guy just causes too much trouble and we don't want that. He's too controversial."

He added:

"He said, I need to prove myself in MMA. I'm too much of a liability if I hit someone on stage. So it came down to We want you to fight, to prove you're an MMA fighter."

Danis signed a contract with Global Fight League in 2025 and was scheduled to lock horns with Tony Ferguson in the main event at GFL 2. However, the first two GFL events were cancelled.

He was also rebooked to box KSI on March 29. However, the event was canceled after the YouTuber pulled out.
