Erin Blanchfield stands to make history if Jessica Andrade win gets her flyweight title shot next

Hot flyweight prospect Erin Blanchfield delivered yet another flawless performance in the main-event at UFC Vegas 69 on Saturday. 'Cold Blooded' outclassed former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade on the feet before dragging her to the ground in the second round to score an effortless RNC submission win.

Despite currently being unranked, Blanchfield's win over Andrade could earn her a title shot as she is undefeated in five UFC outings. Given an immediate gold bid, 'Cold Blooded' stands a chance to become the youngest female champ in UFC history.

While Rose Namajunas currently holds the record at 25 years, 4 months and 6 days, Blanchfield is 23 years, 9 months and 14 days old as of today. TSN's Aaron Bronsteter wrote on Twitter:

Erin Blanchfield is also reportedly 47 days older today than Jon Jones when he became the youngest champion in UFC history in 2011.

In her post-fight octagon interview, Blanchfield called out the winner of the upcoming flyweight title fight between Valentina Shevchenko and Alexa Grasso that is set to headline UFC 285 next month.

Erin Blanchfield wants to follow in the footsteps of Laura Sanko

Former atomweight fighter Laura Sanko recently made her commentary debut at UFC Vegas 68, becoming the second female color commentator in UFC history and the first ever of the Zuffa era. Already a regular commentator on Dana White's Contender Series, Sanko can be hailed as the torch bearer for the next generation of female combat sports journalists.

The UFC color commentator is also a source of inspiration for Erin Blanchfield, who was seemingly a sports media major in college. 'Cold Blooded' even revealed that she has plans of eventually following in the footsteps of Sanko. Blanchfield said in an interview with Sportstar:

"I was like a sports media major, but once I got into the UFC, I kept everything aside to focus on this right now...I’ve always wanted to be a sports commentator or something along those lines. Even seeing people like Laura Sanko commentating on UFC fights is a huge opportunity for women in the sports industry. I want to follow in her footsteps."
