Jonathan Haggerty has always been a highly regarded striker but in 2023, he secured two of the biggest wins of his entire career.

With back-to-back finishes over two world champions, he secured both the bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing titles to reign atop both divisions.

There was never any doubt that the success of ‘The General’ would see him become the face of ONE Championship in the UK. With the organization’s exclusive deal to showcase live events on Sky Sports, it could mean the start of bigger things for the Londoner.

Despite all that he has accomplished, there will be new fans tuning into the promotion and will see the two-sport world champion in action for the first time.

ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong spoke in an interview with Sky Sports about the world-class talent that has come from the UK and how Jonathan Haggerty has proved himself to be the best in the world:

"UK fans have not seen a striker of his caliber ever. He's genuinely the best striker in the UK right now. But more importantly, arguably one of the best pound-for-pound strikers full stop across any martial art in the world today. An incredible, incredible story. He's absolutely talented.”

Jonathan Haggerty will look to continue his incredible run at ONE Fight Night 19

Being a two-sport world champion is an incredible feat but it will also come with some level of pressure for Jonathan Haggerty.

‘The General’ has quickly gone from being the hunter to the hunted, in two different divisions full of hungry contenders that want to knock him off the top spot.

The Brit’s first title defense will come at ONE Fight Night 19 on February 16 against Felipe Lobo.

With the bantamweight Muay Thai world championship on the line, this fight has been building for some time.

ONE Fight Night 19 will air live and free via Sky Sports for UK fans on February 16. The event will also air in U.S. prime time for North American audiences via Prime Video. Check your local listings for more details.
