The 18-year-old Rentap Muay Thai Gym/Superbon Training Camp representative will battle Colombian-American fighter Paez, 31, at ONE Fight Night 32: Nakrob vs. Jaosuayai on June 6 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok in a flyweight Muay Thai joust.

Both are looking to secure a bounce-back win in the match after dropping their previous assignments.

In an interview with combat sports journalist Nick Atkin in line with ONE Fight Night 32, Johan Ghazali shared that he is mindful of the experience that Paez brings to the contest, but is ready to go to battle.

"Diego is experienced. Of course, everyone's a lot older than me, but I think he’s more than a decade older than me. So, he's bound to have more experience than me. Other than that, you know, if everything goes well, it should be an alright fight."

Johan Ghazali (6-2) enters ONE Fight Night 32 off a loss by decision to fellow rising Muay Thai star Johan Estupinan of Colombia in January. The defeat was the second in the last three matches for the Malaysian-American fighter, and something he is itching to redeem himself from.

For his part, Paez narrowly lost in his ONE Championship debut in February, edged out by a split decision by Filipino-American Sean Climaco.

ONE Fight Night 32 is available live at U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Johan Ghazali says previous loss was a lesson for him

Johan Ghazali enters ONE Fight Night 32 coming off a tough loss, which he said he learned a lot from and used as a guide in his preparation for his scheduled match against Diego Paez.

He spoke about it in an interview with ONE Championship, sharing that with aid from Thai superstar Superbon and his team, he was able to identify his flaws last time around and address them.

Ghazali said:

“They started teaching me a bunch of new things that I had never tried before. So, while I did feel like I did pretty well in that fight with a bit of changes to my style, I know where my shortcomings were. But, for this fight, you’ll see a much better version of that, just much more advanced in this next fight.”
