ONE interim bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nabil Anane's incredible run in ONE Championship has come as a surprise to many, but not for rising British sensation Freddie Haggerty.

The Knowlesy Academy and Team Underground man, who has gone 3-1 in the promotion, has followed the Thai-Algerian's journey long before he dazzled on the global stage.

As such, he knew that the Team Mehdi Zatout star was destined for success, more so after he decided to make the move up to bantamweight following his forgettable debut defeat to 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 that was contested at flyweight.

"He's always done well, even outside of ONE. I remember he was like, WBC world champion, really young, and stuff like that," Freddie Haggerty shared during a chat with the South China Morning Post's Andrew Whitelaw.

He continued:

"So, he's always been great. And I feel like he's built into the bantamweight division amazingly. Like with his body shape and stuff, so he's found a home now where he's comfortable."

Akin to Haggerty's words, the six-foot-four martial artist has been on a roll in the bantamweight Muay Thai division.

The 21-year-old striking wizard has collected seven wins on the trot against Nakrob Fairtex, Muangthai PK Saenchai, Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai, Felipe Lobo, Soe Lin Oo, and Nico Carrillo, the last of which earned him the interim 26 pounds of gold.

Most recently, the tower of power secured revenge against Superlek by way of unanimous decision at ONE 172 inside the Saitama Super Arena in March. What made his win even more remarkable was the fact that Nabil Anane also became the first man to knock down 'The Kicking Machine' across his 17 fights under the ONE Championship banner.

Superlek vows to 'set things straight' against Nabil Anane in possible trilogy

Superlek has owned up to his faults during his dismal performance against Nabil Anane in "The Land of the Rising Sun."

While he can't change history, the ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion and former bantamweight Muay Thai king is ready to flip the script if the promotion books them for a rubber match down the line.

"I know myself that last time I did not do really well, and so I know that my performance was not where it should be. So I just want to rematch, as you said, to set things straight," the Kiatmoo9 Gym man shared in a separate interview with SCMP.
