Very few fighters have the privilege to be immortalized in popular media, and Jon Jones is one of them.

Rising rapper and hip-hop artist Mike Dome, or 'MC Dome', released a single titled 'God's Gift' in honor of legendary former light heavyweight champion Jon 'Bones' Jones.

The song's video contains snippets of Jones' finest work inside the octagon. The song also has an audio snippet of Dana White hailing Jon Jones as the 'greatest of all time' in the sport of MMA.

Expressing humility, Jon Jones shared the following Twitter post:

"Check out the full version of Gods Gift, I'm humbled by this really cool song"

Jon Jones last fought in 2020 against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247. Despite Reyes giving Jones one of his toughest fights to date, the then-light heavyweight champion successfully defended his title for the 11th and last time.

'Bones' then walked away from the division entirely to move up a weight class. He has spent the last three years training for the heavyweight division and what was expected to be a potential superfight against the then-heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.

However, the fight will not come to fruition as 'The Predator' has left the premier MMA organization after a contract dispute.

The UFC has now booked Jon Jones against Ciryl Gane for the main event at UFC 285. The pair will collide for the vacant heavyweight title in what will mark Jones' divisional debut.

The event is set to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Nevada. The event will be co-headlined by women's flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko, who will defend her title for the eighth time against No.6-ranked Alexa Grasso.

Is Jon Jones over his feud with Daniel Cormier?

Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier were entangled in one of the most bitter rivalries in UFC history. Both fighters clearly did not like each other, and their rivalry made for some of the most memorable moments in MMA history.

The pair met twice, with Jones emerging as the winner in both meetings. However, his second win, which saw him knock Daniel Cormier out in the third round, was overturned due to him testing positive for a turinabol metabolite.

The saga didn't sit well with 'DC', who didn't like the idea of being knocked out by someone accused of PED use. Cormier went on to have a successful career as an analyst and commentator in the midst of Jones' antics outside the octagon.

Jones recently welcomed 'DC' to commentate on his upcoming UFC 285 bout against Ciryl Gane. Jones said that he hoped Cormier would be unbiased in his commentary, and praised the former two-division champion's skills.

Replying to Jones on his YouTube channel, Cormier said that while he didn't need Jones' 'permission' to call his bout, he did appreciate being acknowledged by his former rival. It seems like both fighters might be moving past their rivalry.
