This weekend at UFC 295, strawweight contender Mackenzie Dern is set to face off with Jessica Andrade in a main card bout.

The last time we saw Mackenzie Dern in action, she defeated Angela Hill over five rounds in a Fight Night headliner.

The result saw Dern move into the No.7 spot in the strawweight division, but should she overcome a former champion in Andrade, she could well enter title contention outright.

While Mackenzie Dern is best known for the world-class grappling skills that have seen her find success in the UFC, plenty of fans also follow her for her popular Instagram posts.

Judging by her recent appearance on the JAXXON podcast, one of those fans is former UFC light-heavyweight champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson.

When Dern mentioned the idea of not being pretty after suffering facial damage in a fight, ‘Rampage’ appeared to compliment her before being reminded that her father is high-level Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend Wellington ‘Megadon’ Dias.

The former UFC champion then quipped the following:

“I’m twice the size as her dad...I’ve dealt with a lot of daddies in my day!”

After being warned that Dias could “wrap a gi around (Jackson’s) neck,” ‘Rampage’ stated:

“I don’t wear no gi! I can’t even fit in the gi! Will your daddy attack me if I try to hit on you?”

However, he quickly reiterated that he was joking around, reminding the strawweight star that he’s a father in his own right.

“I don’t play cause, I have a daughter, my daughter is 16...so I know how it is, I respect the daddies.”

Is strawweight star Mackenzie Dern married?

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Rampage Jackson appeared to be joking around when it came to hitting on Mackenzie Dern in their recent podcast appearance.

However, as of the time of writing, the strawweight star is not married, having gone through a divorce from her former husband Wesley Santos in 2022.

A professional surfer, Santos had a daughter named Moa with Dern in 2019, but the relationship later went south, resulting in their separation.

Dern later accused Santos of domestic violence during their relationship, stating that she “couldn’t defend herself” against her husband’s abuse.
