Former UFC welterweight Mike Perry has put forth a special medieval-themed video ahead of his fight against Jake Paul. The combat sports community quickly weighed in with their reactions to the hilarious skit, with a number of them praising 'Platinum'.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul would fight former undisputed heavyweight champion 'Iron' Mike Tyson. Their heavyweight boxing bout was to be streamed live on Netflix on July 20.

Unfortunately Tysonr recently faced a medical issue. As a result, Paul vs. Tyson has been postponed to Nov. 15. Before the Tyson bout, Paul will first fight Mike Perry in an eight-round cruiserweight boxing match on July 20.

Paul and Perry are no strangers to one another, having gone back and forth plenty of times. Their much-awaited fight will be streamed on DAZN.

Taking to Instagram, Perry has now posted a video of himself brandishing a sword. He also sported a crown and his BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) 'King of Violence' title.

The medieval-style skit saw 'Platinum' issuing a passionate warning and then calmly walking off at the end. The 32-year-old stated:

"Are you ready? We're going to f**king war, b**ch! Kill this motherf**ker! I'm coming for you, Jake! I'm the 'King of Violence'!"

Commenters flooded his Instagram post, with one fan notably asserting that the build-up to the Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry fight is going to be insane.

Another fan alluded that Perry's story arc, going from his UFC defeats to being undefeated in bare-knuckle boxing as the face of the BKFC, should be studied.

"Mike Perry by murder in under 5 rounds"

An Instagram user praised Perry for the skit, whereas another urged him to knock Jake Paul out just as he KO'd Jake Ellenberger in the UFC. On the other hand, some fans indicated that he'd beat Paul in a bare-knuckle boxing bout but not in a professional boxing match.

Meanwhile, a commenter addressed the medieval skit and wrote:

"Iron Knight Perry"

When a Mike Perry skit elicited considerable criticism during his UFC career

Mike Perry is well-known for his promo skills and sense of humor, including skits such as the aforementioned medieval-style video. However, he faced severe backlash after one particular instance.

Heading into his MMA bout against Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone in the UFC in late 2018, Perry filmed and tweeted a video featuring himself as a Native American warrior who can be seen hunting a cowboy. Certain sections of the MMA realm deemed it as an act of cultural insensitivity.

Perry was beaten by Cerrone via first-round submission in Nov. 2018. He last competed in the UFC in April 2021 and later signed with BKFC.

The Florida native also competed in a Triad Combat match before gradually becoming BKFC's biggest star. 'Platinum' is still signed to BKFC, who have permitted him to face Jake Paul in a professional boxing match.
