Sean Strickland, staying true to his character, did not hold anything back in a recent callout to Paulo Costa.

Asked about his next choice of opponent in a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Strickland mentioned 'Borrachinha' who is currently negotiating his contract renewal with the UFC.

Strickland also commended Costa's sense of humor with regards to the Brazilian's recently improved Twitter game. However, the perennial middleweight contender did not shy away from issuing an NSFW warning to 'Borrachinha' by referring to the latter's loss against Israel Adesanya. The 32-year-old told Mike Bohn:

"Costa. I want Costa. I think me and Costa's fight is to happen. I know his contract is pretty f***ed right now so we're just waiting on that... Costa's a funny m***er****er. I mean he's f***ing kind of dumb and that says a lot coming from this [points at himself] f***ing guy. He's a funny m***er****er but I'm gonna put him on his knees and f*** him like Izzy."

Israel Adesanya stopped Paulo Costa in the second-round of his dominant UFC 253 title defense in 2020. Strickland was referring to Adesanya's wild post-fight celebration where 'The Last Stylebender' suggestively humped his fallen opponent.

Strickland also said that he only needs 8 to 10 weeks to get into fighting shape despite currently weighing 225 lbs.

Paulo Costa weighs in on potential fight against Sean Strickland

Sean Strickland is currently coming off an emphatic unanimous decision win over Nassourdine Imavov that ended a two-fight skid. After fighting twice within thirty days, Strickland did not lose much time before calling out Paulo Costa last month.

Even in his first callout, Strickland did not miss out on the opportunity to take a dig at 'Borrachinha's wine excuse for his loss to Israel Adesanya.

Responding to Strickland's callout, Costa claimed that the middleweight contender had perhaps taken too many shots to his head. The former middleweight title contender wrote on Twitter:

"Strickland deep, deep, deep down in his heart is a nice guy, I just think one of his many problems is because he's been shot several times in the head and now he's kind of living on a permanent concussion making jokes so old he couldn't think of something updated lolall good Bro👍"

Costa also joked about fighting Strickland in exchange for three octagon girls, $200k and 'secret juice'.
