In a recent clip shared by @DovySimuMMA on X, UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones revealed that he has been dropped and even knocked out before in training, astonishing fans on social media. He cited two specific incidents, both years apart.
The first was during his early days as an MMA fighter, and was against the 13-9 ex-UFC middleweight Mike Massenzio, who dropped him with a straight left. The second time, a body shot knockout, was against ex-UFC welterweight Adlan Amagov.
Specifically, it was a spinning back kick to the body, which Jones himself later used at UFC 309 to TKO the great Stipe Miocic. Recalling the incident, Jones said:
"I was dropped by a UFC middleweight, Mike Massenzio. A southpaw boxer. It was one of my first... I think my first or second year of training, I got dropped by him with a straight left punch. Not knocked out, but dropped. And then I would say Adlan knocked me out for sure. He caught me with a spinning back [kick] to the stomach and exactly what I did to Stipe, he did that to me."

Fans on X flocked to the clip of Jones' admission to share their opinions. One individual wrote:
"If it didn't happen in a pro fight it doesn't count. Apparently there are guys and girls who are rockstars in the gym but when the bright lights come on they are half the fighters in the octagon"
Another poked fun at the UFC heavyweight champion's reluctance to fight Tom Aspinall, as well as his past reluctance to fight Francis Ngannou, both of whom are known for their knockout power.
"See why he's so scared of Francis and Tom"
More fans taunted him.
"He's scared to this day"
Some, though, offered Jones advice.
"It happens, you learn from it"

Fans are still awaiting Jones' octagon return, but with Aspinall's shadow looming over him, he may very well retire.
Jon Jones had a questionable moment at UFC 247
Back during his light heavyweight days, Jon Jones defended his title against Dominick Reyes. In round one of their fight, 'The Devastator' landed a straight left just as Jones threw a low kick, and it appeared to have knocked 'Bones' down, or at least knocked him off balance.

Jones sprang back to his feet, and one of the most competitive fights of his career ensued. In the end, Jones won via unanimous decision, but not without controversy, with many labeling it a robbery.
