ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 put on a marvelous performance against short-notice opponent Danial Williams in the main event of ONE Fight Night 8 last weekend.

The event had a crazy reshuffling when the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon pulled out of the main event due to injury. In came, ONE strawweight dynamo Danial 'Mini T' Williams, who was originally scheduled to fight Rui Botelho, stepping up in weight to challenge for the ONE flyweight kickboxing world title.

While 'Mini T' put in a valiant effort, the Thai world champion put him away inside three rounds. He also won a sweet $50,000 performance bonus courtesy of ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

Superlek was utterly grateful for the token of appreciation for his hard work. In an interview with SCMP MMA, the heralded 'Kicking Machine' spoke about winning a performance bonus from ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong:

"I am happy, I’m speechless to get this bonus. I would like to thank Mr. Chatri, since I joined ONE my life has been better, my family’s better so I am determined to do my best in every fight."

Superlek, despite having little to no time to prepare for Danial Williams, though, had no problems imposing his will on the Aussie-Thai actionman.

‘The Kicking Machine’ started with his trademark clinical precision, surgically peppering Williams with quick kicks to the midsection. Come the second round, the defending world champion incrementally increased the pressure. He clocked Williams with a series of flying knees and roundhouse kicks to slow the challenger down.

By the time they reached the third round, Superlek already knew that he had Williams inside his fist. The Thai superstar went back to his thunderous knee strikes before knocking Williams down with a concussive roundhouse kick. 'Mini T' ate a shin to the face as he ducked in for an overhand right.

Though the Aussie managed to beat the 10-count, he was met with another knee to the jaw before getting put away with a flurry of punches. Referee Olivier Coste put a stop to the match at 1:55 into the third round.

In his post-fight interview with Mitch Chilson, Superlek shed light on his preparations for Danial Williams:

"So I was really pressured in the first round, I must admit that I studied Williams very little from his previous fight and I was pressured. But then I followed my corner, and I cornered him up, used more of my kicks and that’s how I did it.”
