Superlek willing to face any opponent as the new ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion

'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 is ready to face any competitor with his newly earned ONE flyweight kickboxing world championship. Following his crowning, the Thai athlete issued a challenge to the top contenders in his division.

At ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video, Superlek battled in a five-round war against Daniel Puertas with the flyweight kickboxing world title on the line. In the end, the judges gave the victory to 'The Kicking Machine'.

After getting his hand raised, Superlek explained during his in-circle interview:

"I’ve never been careless towards any of my opponents ever, so I was confident."

The 27-year-old athlete also declared:

"I am not protective of this belt. Whoever wants to take this, come and take this from me."

Superlek and Rodtang expected to battle for the flyweight kickboxing throne

Fans have wanted to see Superlek and 'The Iron Man' Rodtang Jitmuangnon face off for years. The two Thai stars now look to be on a collision course with the flyweight kickboxing gold on the line.

Rodtang walked away with a dominant victory in the flyweight kickboxing division at ONE Fight Night 6, seemingly leaving him as the top contender in the division and next in line for a title shot.

After getting crowned the ONE flyweight kickboxing king, 'The Kicking Machine' told SCMP MMA:

"Between me and Rodtang, of course, anything can happen."

ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong also agreed that this is a matchup that must happen. During the pre-fight press conference, the ONE CEO explained:

"I think that’s the fight Thailand wants to see, that’s the fight the whole world wants to see, Superlek vs. Rodtang. They would fight eventually, whether it’s Muay Thai or kickboxing... These are the two most dangerous strikers."

Ahead of the matchup, 'The Kicking Machine' said that a fight against Rodtang would be one of the most exciting bouts that ONE can make. Speaking to the promotion in an interview, the Thai striker said:

“If I win and Rodtang [Jitmuangnon] wins his fight [on the same night], there is a high chance we could face each other in kickboxing. That will be the most exciting match for the audience around the country if it happened."

Rodtang is the current ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion and has recently been on a quest to earn gold in more sports. His journey to the flyweight kickboxing crown began with an impressive victory, and now he wants the throne that 'The Kicking Machine' currently occupies.
