Brunno Ferreira, an undefeated Dana White's Contender Series graduate, made the most out of his UFC debut with a first-round knockout victory over Gregory 'Robocop' Rodrigues.

Ferreira replaced the injured Brad Tavares to face Rodrigues on short notice. The Curitiba native announced his arrival on September 20, 2022 with a fantastic debut performance against Leon Aliu in the DWCS that earned him the UFC contract.

The fight between Brunno Ferreira and Gergory Rodrigues began with the UFC debutant switching stances and circling away from 'Robocop'. Rodriguez attempted to close the distance with a lead right hand, only for him to catch a solid overhand left counter from Ferreira.

As the fight progressed, Ferreira found success with his kicks while Rodrigues was comfortable trading shots in the pocket. 'The Hulk' tried to take the fight to the ground but Rodrigues defended the attempt deftly.

With just under a minute left on the clock in the first round, Rodrigues pressured Brunno Ferreira against the cage. However, Ferreira drilled a perfectly timed vicious left hook that knocked out Rodrigues cold.

With this victory, Brunno Ferreira extended his undefeated record to 10-0. All ten of the DWCS graduate's victories (seven KO/TKO and three submissions) have come by finishes.

Brunno Ferreira reacts to his first-round knockout victory over Gregory Rodrigues at UFC 283

Brunno Ferreira put the UFC middleweight division on notice with a spectacular first-round knockout victory over a tough opponent in Gregory Rodrigues. UFC 283 marked the debut of Ferreira, who graduated from the ranks of Dana White's Contender Series last year.

Having extended his undefeated record to 10-0, Ferreira was clearly exhilarated by the performance he put on in front of his home crowd in Brazil. 'The Hulk' took center stage to react to his performance in the post-fight octagon interview. He said [translated]:

"I took this fight on eight days notice, so this means a lot for my family, my team... When they said Gregory's name, I said, 'Let's go. I'm ready.' It's amazing being here. It's awesome."

Ferreira added:

"I'm an MMA athlete but my base is in judo. I'm a black belt in jiu-jitsu, but I trusted my team who were thinking that I could strike with him.... and now I've shown everyone who's Bruno Hulk."
