American Top Team (ATT) founder Dan Lambert thinks Colby Covington is just like any other fighter trying to book a huge fight with Dustin Poirier.

Covington said in his octagon interview at UFC 272 that he will be pursuing Poirier next. The two elite UFC contenders have a long-standing rivalry, which 'Chaos' is eager to finally settle.

Covington reiterated the same thing during his UFC 272 post-fight press conference where he blasted 'The Diamond' with his signature trash-talk. The two-time welterweight title contender even went as far as to question the parentage of Poirier's child, claiming the father was a certain notorious Irishman.

ATT founder Dan Lambert was recently asked about the call-out. Lambert thinks it's not a big deal as trash-talk is part of the business. Moreover, it doesn't surprise him that fighters are gunning for 'The Diamond' as he is one of the biggest draws in the sport.

In a recent interview with 'The Schmo', Lambert stated:

"I'm in the wrestling business part of the time, what am I going to say about trash-talk? It is what it is. It's talk. It's just talk... I mean everybody wants to fight Dustin [Poirier], everybody wants to fight Jorge [Masvidal]. They're the stars, they're the big paychecks, who doesn't want to fight a guy like that if they're in that weight class."

John McCarthy makes a bold claim about Colby Covington

'Big John' McCarthy dropped a unique reaction to the Colby Covington vs. Jorge Masvidal fight at UFC 272. For McCarthy, the fight wasn't bad, but it did not live up to the hype considering the bad blood between the pair.

Furthermore, the former UFC referee feels that there's nothing exciting about Covington's fights as 'Chaos' lacks "punching power". In a UFC 272 reaction video on Weighing In, McCarthy said:

"Colby Covington is never going to be an exciting fighter. I’m sorry he’s just not exciting. He’s good, I will not take anything away from him but he doesn’t have a ton of punching power. He throws punches at times that you look and you go, ‘That was not good.’ But he’s able to get away with it because he’s got that pressure. And he’s got a good chin. Because he’ll take a shot. He’ll take shots and come back and respond.”
