A new training video featuring Conor McGregor has set the MMA community abuzz with speculation regarding his highly-anticipated comeback.

In a video posted to McGregor's TheMacLife YouTube channel, the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion can be seen training pressure tactics on a heavy bag against the wall.

McGregor appeared to be using his weight to pin the bag against the wall, mimicking the tactic of trapping one's opponent against the cage fence in an MMA bout. 'The Notorious' then unleashed a barrage of punches and knees on the bag from different angles, all while ensuring that he uses good positioning to ensure that his imaginary opponent doesn't get away from the fence.

Conor McGregor's most recent fight was a first-round TKO loss in his trilogy matchup against Dustin Poirier. The lightweight bout transpired at UFC 264 in July 2021. McGregor suffered a gruesome leg injury during the fight, which resulted in the TKO defeat, and he hasn't competed since.

Presently, the consensus is that the UFC megastar is well on the road to recovery and could return to the octagon in early 2023. Speaking to TMZ Sports earlier this year, UFC president Dana White himself suggested that McGregor's long-awaited comeback fight could materialize in early 2023.

Conor McGregor has recently been busy filming for 'Road House,' a remake to the 1989 cult classic movie of the same name. The movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal as the protagonist and will also feature McGregor in a pivotal role.

Taking to his official Twitter account late last month, McGregor notably indicated that he plans to compete in multiple fights by the time 'Road House' releases in 2023. The Irishman tweeted:

"I’m feeling crazy confident. Calm. Disattached from emotion. Aware of what I must do and making it happen. Visualizing. I see it all. Clear. This movie wraps, I’m back. I’ll have multiple fights completed by the time this movie even releases."

The consensus is that Conor McGregor could return to the welterweight division for his next fight. The 34-year-old has bulked up considerably during his hiatus and has consistently hinted that he plans to move up to the 170-pound weight class for his comeback matchup.

Several top-tier fighters from different weight divisions, including names such as UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and UFC lightweight star Michael Chandler, have volunteered to face McGregor next. That said, McGregor's next opponent and exact comeback date are yet to be officially announced.
