A video has recently resurfaced which shows the outspoken and brash Paddy Pimblett threatening to kick Conor McGregor's a** in an attack on the Irishman seven years ago.

Despite only recently rising to superstardom since joining the UFC, 'The Baddy' has always been a confident speaker on the mic dating back to his early years in the sport. Although he is a great athlete capable of competing against high-level talents, it's the Scouser's ability on the mic that has made him a household name.

As Conor McGregor headed into his scheduled bout against Jose Aldo for the UFC featherweight title, Paddy Pimblett had just defended a championship of his own and decided to call for a fight against the Dublin native, saying:

"Give me McGregor, I'll f***ing smoke him. Who's he? [Jose] Aldo's gonna kick his a**, and when he does, I'll kick his a**... To be honest, I don't give a flying f*** who you put me in the cage with next because they are gonna get leathered. Simple. Put me in there with anyone. I've shown it before, hit me as hard as you want, I'll come back at you stronger, you've got nothing for me when we get in there... Artem Lobov? Get me McGregor, I'll smoke him as well."

At the time of the interview, Pimblett was a 20-year-old prospect who had just made his first and only defense of the FCC featherweight title against a tough Miguel Haro.

The first-round submission victory would signal the end of his two-fight career in the promotion, with 'The Baddy' then going on to dedicate himself to the Cage Warriors banner before moving to the UFC years later.

Paddy Pimblett's dream Conor McGregor fight

One thing the brash, young Paddy Pimblett has in common with the much more mature—yet still controversial—athlete is his dream of one day standing across the cage from Conor McGregor.

Although he has spoken highly of 'The Notorious' on multiple occasions throughout his career, the 27-year-old has been eyeing a matchup against the megastar since he was a fresh face in the sport.

In more recent times, Pimblett has praised the work McGregor has put in to make MMA the powerhouse it is today but claims the brawl between the two lightweights would be the biggest in the history of the sport.
