Erin Blanchfield was given the nickname 'Cold Blooded' by her father due to her 'calm demeanor' and 'poker face' in fights.

The No. 2-ranked women's flyweight started training in jiu-jitsu at age seven and decided that she wanted to be a professional fighter at age 12.

'Cold Blooded' made her UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 192, facing off against Sarah Alpar, whom she beat via unanimous decision. Blanchfield is currently undefeated in the UFC with a 6-0 promotional record and an overall MMA record of 12-1.

In her most recent outing, 'Cold Blooded' defeated former title challenger Taila Santos via unanimous decision.

Before that, Blanchfield pulled off the biggest win of her career against former UFC strawweight champion Jessica Andrade. The Brazilian is known for her devastating power and finishing ability. However, Blanchfield dominated the former champion for the majority of the fight before finishing her with an armbar submission in Round 2.

Erin Blanchfield will attempt to repeat history at UFC Atlantic City

Erin Blanchfield made her professional MMA debut in Atlantic City against Whittaney Pyles at the CFFC 70 event on March 24, 2024.

Blanchfield outclassed her opponent on the ground and smothered her for the majority of Round 1 with vicious ground-and-pound. The cage-side doctors rendered Pyles unable to continue before Round 2 and Blanchfield was declared the winner by TKO.

This week marks the sixth anniversary of the 24-year-old's MMA debut and coincidentally, Blanchfield is standing at another crucial point of her combat sports career in Atlantic City.

Blanchfield is currently the No. 2-ranked UFC flyweight contender. She will take on No. 3-ranked Manon Fiorot in a potential title eliminator fight at this weekend's FC Atlantic City event. The winner of this contest will likely challenge for the title after Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko put a conclusive end to their trilogy.

Former two-time UFC strawweight champion Rose Namajunas, who recently scored her first win at flyweight after moving up in weight, has thrown her name in the mix.

'Thug', who lost to Fiorot in her flyweight debut, has shown interest in fighting the winner of Blanchfield vs. Fiorot as the next step of her quest for the title shot.
