How to get Gley's Predator Instinct Module in The First Descendant

Gley is the de-facto single-target DPS expert of The First Descendant, and her Predator Instinct module cements this role even further. You cannot get this mod before you unlock the fourth Hard Intercept boss, and it takes a hefty amount of Kuiper Shard and Gold to upgrade. However, at that point in the late game, it is easily one of the best ways to vertically improve your Gley build.

In this guide, we will go over how to obtain the Predator Instinct in The First Descendant, and everything else you should know about the module.

How to farm the Gley-exclusive Predator Instinct Module in The First Descendant

To get the Predator Instinct module in The First Descendant, you must farm the Hard-Mode Pyromaniac boss. The Normal variant of this Void Intercept battle does not drop it, only the lvl 114 version does.

Predator Instinct is not a guaranteed drop from Pyromaniac, and the specific drop chance remains unknown. However, you will not need any Amorphous Materials specific to the Reconstruction Device, as it's a direct drop similar to the Slayer Set.

The best way to do it is gearing up with a bossing specialist spec like Gley, and running Hard Pyromancer on repeat solo.

When should you use Predator Instinct in The First Descendant, and what does it do?

Predator Instinct essentially supercharges Frenzied mode even further, increasing Firearm ATK on whatever weapon you're using. This buff persists through swapping weapons, including Gley's Massacre.

Unlike some Skill Modules, there is no downside to Predator Instinct. Putting it on any Gley build whatsoever will be a direct upgrade with no caveat. The only issue that may arise is its resource sink as a Transcendental Mod.

If you want to slot it into any competitive build, you need to upgrade it to reduce its capacity cost, which costs upwards of half a million Kuiper Shards, and tenfold as much Gold. We recommend saving it as the very last puzzle of your Gley build and only investing in it when you can afford to min-max one build this much.
