A new patch for Moon Studios' No Rest for the Wicked has been released, addressing several issues with the game's current version. Titled the “Early Access Hotfix 2,” this patch aims to bring a variety of improvements to game balance and performance - in addition to fixing a plethora of bugs that have plagued it since its launch on April 18, 2024.

As detailed on the official Steam store page, the No Rest for the Wicked patch notes include the following major changes:

Performance

  • Improved render performance
  • Extra optimizations for both Balanced and Performance Quality graphical modes
  • Optimizations for Visual Effects and Fog render
  • The Ship Prologue’s performance has been improved
  • Miscellaneous other improvements

Game Balance

  • Overall Durability of tools have been increased (100/125/150 for Tiers 1, 2 and 3 respectively)
  • Silver Ring’s enchantment nerfed, with a slight increase to its base stats.
  • Stagger on parry has been removed entirely from the buffed Riven Twins boss fight.

Loot

  • Water Channel key moved to a chest within the Black Trench; temporary workaround for the Plague Leader not spawning
  • Food costs balanced to restore health proportionally
  • Dig Spots now drop more Clay and rocks
  • Whittacker’s loot table now has fishing rods

Crafting

  • Tool crafting now accessible at Crafting Tables

Area

  • Critter spawns have been improved
  • Enemy spawns improved at the Nameless Pass
  • Nameless Pass has more loot spawning
  • Art and climbables have been polished within the Mariner’s Keep

Combat

  • Plague Wolf and Wolf have been tweaked to remove aggressive rotation
  • Riven Twins have improved audio cues

Bug Fixes

  • Missing Chinese text has been fixed
  • Interaction texts now display the correct language
  • Filmore’s free repairs have been improved, until Sacrament
  • Map now shows area names when hovered on
  • Echo Knight boss’ AoE zones now match visual effects
  • Enemies now do not turn into kaijus randomly
  • Shinies and Chests do not disappear in the Sewers now
  • Deleted chests now drop loot regardless of having full inventory
  • Chests no longer set ablaze over the open campfire in the Nameless Pass
  • Rain sounds do not appear randomly anymore in the Phalen Church cutscene
  • Terms of Service and Privacy Policy now render correctly.
