WoW The War Within isn’t here yet, but the Season 1 Mythic rotation has allegedly been datamined by Wowhead.com. As this is datamined information, it’s worth noting that this could change later or could be incorrect. All information like this should be taken with a grain of salt, but if true, players will be running through a very interesting set of dungeons.

Some of these dungeons frustrated me as a player years ago, and that won't likely change here in the upcoming WoW expansion, the War Within’s Mythic rotation for Season 1. If you want to know what awaits players, look no further.

WoW The War Within’s Season 1 Mythic rotation will uphold the rich tradition of blending new and old dungeons - except Dragonflight Season 4. Four of the new dungeons will be available to play through at this harder difficulty. Below is the complete list, as we know it right now:

  • Ara-Kara, City of Echoes (New)
  • City of Threads (New)
  • The Stonevault (New)
  • The Dawnbreaker (New)
  • Mists of Tirna Scithe (Shadowlands)
  • The Necrotic Wake (Shadowlands)
  • Siege of Boralus (Battle for Azeroth)
  • Grim Batol (Cataclysm)

Unfortunately, there isn’t much information about what the new dungeons will entail. We do know that City of Threads is supposed to be a level-up dungeon set in a Nerubian city. The Stonevault. Ara-Kara, City of Echoes, and The Dawnbreaker are both mysteries at this time - except that they are max level dungeons.

I’m going to be honest - I’m not excited about Shadowlands dungeons returning for the Mythic rotation of WoW The War Within Season 1. It’s my least favorite expansion, and its dungeons are no different. The Necrotic Wake, in particular, had a bizarre layout and was frustrating to grind through.

However, Siege of Boralus and Grim Batol are both dungeons I’m fond of and if I decide to go hard on Mythics in WoW The War Within, I’ll be looking forward to challenging these.

I'm interested in seeing if either of these older dungeons will be updated - that is something Blizzard has done in the past. For players who haven’t tackled Mythics in the past, the updated Dungeon Progression system should make it easier to try and get geared up for the more difficult dungeon type.

WoW The War Within will launch later in 2024, though no official release date has been given. The Alpha test phase is currently ongoing, with a beta test coming soon.
