Jeff Burton is a former NASCAR racer. He is succeeded by his son Harrison Burton, who also competes in the NASCAR Cup Series and nephew Jeb Burton, who races in the Xfinity Series. Jeff Burton’s adventures in NASCAR put him on the list of 75 Greatest Drivers of NASCAR in 2023. He was also the Rookie of the Year in the 1994 Winston Cup Series. Jeff Burton has raced in the Cup Series for 22 years starting 695 races.

He retired permanently from the sport in 2014 after participating in a few races part time for Stewart-Haas Racing. Jeff Burton has multiple Top-10 finishes in the championship. His best results were during the 2000 Cup Series, in which he finished third in the driver standings. Jeff Burton has raced for many of the popular teams in the Cup Series. He has previously raced for Roush Racing, Richard Childress Racing, Michael Waltrip Racing and Stewart-Haas Racing. He was nicknamed “the Mayor” during his Cup Series career.

Burton has collected three Crown Jewel race victories in his NASCAR career. He has won the 1999 Southern 500 and the 1999 and 2001 Coca-Cola 600 races. He came close to winning the Daytona 500 in 2011 but he suffered an engine failure while leading the race.
