
The Quaker State 400 is a part of the summer schedule of the NASCAR Cup Series. The event will mark the end of NASCAR's June schedule during the 2025 Cup Series season. The race is held at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia. It is a 400-mile-long event hosted for 260 laps in total. The race is the second event held at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. It is preceded by the AmbetterHealth 400 event which is a part of the Spring schedule of the NASCAR Cup Series. The 2025 Quaker State 400 will also kick off a special in-season tournament in the NASCAR Cup Series. It is going to provide a $1 million bonus to the winning driver. The Quaker State 400 available at Walmart event is sponsored by Quaker State and Walmart.
The Quaker State 400 event started as a 500-mile event in its early days. However, it was removed from the NASCAR calendar from the 2011 season. It returned to the Cup Series after a decade of hiatus in 2021. The race was converted to a 400-mile event after its return to the Cup Series.

The 2025 Quaker State 400 will be held on June 28, 2025, as a part of the NASCAR Cup Series Regular season schedule. Joey Logano is the defending winner of the event. He won the Quaker State 400 for the first time in his career at the 2024 event. Bobby Johns won the first race in the history of the event in the 1960 Cup Series season. He was followed by Bob Burdick and Fred Lorenzen. Lorenzen claimed three victories from 1962-1964 becoming the first repeat winner and first consecutive winner of the race.

Team Penske is the defending champion, having won it in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season. Before them, Hendrick Motorsports won the 2022 and 2023 races to claim the runner-up spot on the list of most successful teams in the event. Penske's victory put them in fourth spot on the list of most successful teams.
Cotton Owens was the first winner of the Quaker State 400 in the 1960 Cup Series held on October 30. Holman Moody became the first team to win the race more than once and win the race consecutively. They won thrice during the 1962-1964 seasons.

Cale Yarborough, one of the NASCAR Hall of Famers, won six races throughout his career at the Quaker State 400 event. He is the most successful driver in the race followed by Dale Earnhardt. Earnhardt, the seven-time NASCAR title winner, won the race five times with his last victory coming in the 2000 season, also his last full season in the Cup Series before his unfortunate death.
